Summary: We bought this TV through Amazon in May 2009. Thought it was a great TV until now. The TV went out...blank screen with the red Standby button on the bottom flashing when the power was on. We called Sony...that means a failure within the set and we need repair. Repair is higher cost than a new TV so Sony offer us a 15% discount from a Sony Store on a new purchase. That cost does not come close to in comparison to Amazon pricing.....so just forget that idea.
Summary: TV WAS GREAT FOR 4 MONTHS THEN LCD PANEL DIED DEALING WITH SONY IS A LIVING NIGHTMARE THE COMPANY THAT DOES THERE SERVICES IS WONDERFUL SONY DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCT ITS GOING ON 2 WEEKS STILL NO ANSWERS
Summary: I received the Sony kdl 46Z4100 and it worked great for 6 hours. The next evening I tried to turn it on and it was as dead as a doornail - no power no lights what-so-ever. Other devices plugged into the same power strip worked fine. The Sony rep was no help. The in home service technician could not come for a week. When he finally came, he wanted me to pay for the service call per instructions from the "Authorized Sony Serice Contractor.
