    Seriously, this was a wonderful tv but it didn't last. After 2 years one of the fluorescent backlights has a flickering problem. Sony has basically said that I will have to pay almost half of my original purchase. There has been a grand drop in quality over at Sony. Pretty much every piece of electronics I have purchased from then in the last 3 years had been poorly designed and overly expensive. I used to justify it because my previous Sony purchases lasted forever. Read more

    I got this set in after thanks-giving sale. Setting up the TV was a breeze. The picture quality is great form HD source. Color is crisp, the audio is good. Since this set is not 120Hz, fast sports may not play well on this set, but I did not see that problem. The only complaint I have is that picture quality of SD sources is not very good and considering that we still have quite a few SD components, this can be a problem. Read more

    I have owned Sony TV's since 1982 This is the Rolls Royce of all TVs Perfect picture and sound.... be careful of the food network HD because you might me tempted to take a knife and fork to the set as the picture is so real. Read more

    Extremely durable, the picture quality is very good and off course the name recognition. The remote features are very user frindly. The only weakness is the speaker rating of 11 Watt one on each side. Read more

    i have found this product to have an extremely good qaulity picture which is the main part of a television obviously but with other televisions you can sometimes find the colour a bit wrong or the picture to sharp but this one gets it right on the dot like most sony tvs the sound qaulity for a flat screen tv is very good but i have bought additional speakers for it to get the extra bass as i like to watch music videos on it also the connectivity of the tv is excellent Read more

Sony KDL-40W3000 is a 40 inches (102 cm) full HD 1080 BRAVIA LCD TV that features BRAVIA ENGINE EX, S-Force Front Surround sound, Live Colour Creation and x.v.Colour on the 10-Bit LCD panel, BRAVIA Theatre Sync and Digital TV (MPEG 2) among others.

Features

KDL-40W3000 features 6.2 Mega Pixel resolutions that provide high image quality from the Sony’s 10 Bit panel. Besides that, BRAVIA Engine EX installed features Composite Component Technology, Image Format Technology, Flat Panel Display Driver Technology and Digital Reality Creation; that generate better picture density and depth. With Live Colour Creation and x.v.Colour on the 10-Bit LCD panel, finer and vibrant colours produced. 24p True Cinema enables film to be watched at its correct shot rate. In addition, S-Force Front Surround generates virtual surround sound effects from only two front speakers. It also features Voice Zoom that alters spoken dialogue without altering the background volume. BRAVIA Theatre Sync enables full controls of the TV and other attached equipments as well by a single touch of button. HD 1080p compatible enables High Definition signals. There are three High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) inputs provided, two on rear and another on side that enables extra equipment to be connected to the TV. The LCD TV is also equipped with Digital TV (MPEG 2) with terrestrial tuner that also receives analogue. Plus, the KDL-40W3000 features Audio Description for the visually impaired people by describing events on the screen. This LCD TV an also be wall-mounted using a bracket.
