Summary: TV worked fine until today, four years from date of purchase. TV colors became distorted. Sony said this would require extensive repairs. But I figured why pay hundreds of dollars and take a risk to get a refurbished TV that could just break down a year from today. So I decided to just buy a new replacement TV.
Summary: I did not purchase this from Amazon, I bought it during a black Friday sale at Best Buy four years ago. Last week the screen, across all inputs, became discolored. After researching this issue more it appears the KDL range from Sony is plagued with similar screen failures and discolorations. I would advise against buying this product used or refurbished. I don't think they sell this model brand new anymore, but if they still do I wouldn't buy it new either.
Summary: In the midst of giant LED smart TV's nowadays this mediocre sized LCD HDTV still holds it's own. Picture after 4 years of owning it has not lost any of it's quality. I hope future Sony products is as strong as this one. It has been very beautiful and durable at the same time.
Summary: Purchased this TV about 2 years ago. Was working well for the initial 2 years. However, several weeks ago the color in the TV changed, giving everything an unusually bright & strangely tinted appearance in all the different input types. Resetting the color settings, changing different settings, and talking with Sony customer service did not help. Will have to pay heavily for a repair visit as it is now out of warranty.
Summary: I went to Target to get a new LCD tv. I looked at them and the Sony seemed to have the best picture, but it was close with several others as well. I have always been of the mind set that when in doubt, buy the Sony product. I have never been really disappointed with a Sony product. I went home and found that Amazon had it much cheaper than Target. I ordered it, and a few days later it was delivered. No problems! The TV is great, nice picture, PS3 looks superb.
Summary: This model has top notch picture quality and improves on my previous 32" Sony LCD. Then, 18 months later, or 6 months after the warranty expired, it won't turn on anymore due to its faulty power supply. I was shocked because of my previous reliability experience with Sony TVs. Then I found out that the Sony Service Facility here in Burbank, CA no longer exists. They have other locations, but they don't service consumer products.
Fantastic picture once I got rid of the clouding effect!

Summary: I've had this TV for about a week now, and though it was a rollercoaster of emotions at first, I've grown to really like it, and would recommend it-- my only reservation the possibility of backlight clouding. First of all, the very first thing I noticed after setting it up was a large but dim purple splotch directly in the center of the screen. My heart immediately sank as this was the dreaded Bravia clouding, or mura, effect I'd read so much about.
Summary: This TV is excellent right out of the box. After using it with a conventional DVD player and a Comcast HD box, it is what I expected. HD channels were terrific and convential stations had greater clarity than by prior 32 inch Panasonic Viera. Blue Ray player is obviously on the horizon to synch with this TV. The "White Glove" delivery promised by Amazon (since they sold this one) is anything but.
