Summary: This T.V. greatly exceeds my expectations. This is the first hi-def T.V. I've purchased and the picture is outstanding. I researched many T.V.'s before buying. Went to several different stores to view different brands and nothing I saw compares to this picture. I'm not a T.V. geek just an ordinary T.V. lover and I am memorized by the quality of the picture. Would definitely recommend this T.V. to anyone who likes quality viewing!
Summary: I love Sony Televisions. We have always had Sony's at home ever since I can remember. They are reliable and last forever! It has great picture quality as well as sound. When I compared it with other tv's that have the same size I couldn't pass up this model. The picture is sharp, bright and the colors are so nicely balance right off. It is actually the first tv that I bought that is hdtv being that I had held back from purchasing one if I couldn't buy a Sony.
Excerpt: I Bought this Sony 40" HDTV for the bedroom, I was amazed at how light it was just 26 pounds, easy to setup, great picture, and low energy consumption. It fits perfectly on the entertainment center too. I'm so glad I didn't purchase the 32" as originally planned, I do own a lot of Sony products and will continue to purchase their line of products.
Pros: All the connections options I could ever need, Best looking TV out there, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Remote Control, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound Quality, LED-backlit, Lightweight, Reduced Glare
Summary: I bought this mainly as an upgrade from my Samsung 32" 720p tv. All I can really say after having this tv after 2 days is that I freaking love it. Out of the box the standard picture needed no tweaking other than needing to set the brightness back a little bit for darker blacks. I mainly use this tv for gaming and Netflix.
Summary: This was a gift to me and I couldn't be more happier. TV. Fir me is about the quality of its picture, not the bells and whistle that comes with it. This television delivers a very good, crisp and clear picture. Vivid colors and true high definition. Even with 720p (cables and sattelite only delivers at 720) reception it delivers quality high definition. My two year old sony BDP synced well and functioned well with this Bravia. My Apple TV worked well with it as well.
Summary: I own a Pioneer Kuro PDP-5080 HD, so that's my point of reference. The most important part of any television is it's ability to reproduce accurate color and black levels. Smart features, internet connectivity, etc. are all ancillary features that don't affect the monitors ability to display a realistic picture to faithfully reproduce the TV/Movies that you are watching. The Sony KDL-40R450A is an absolutely stunning television.
