Summary: This is a great TV. Has a very clear picture, which is not too bright. Also has great sound. The size is nice, not too big. I really like that you can turn the screen based on where you are in the house for easier viewing. Overall a very nice TV.
Summary: I have owned Sony TV's for over 30 years and have watched them evolve. Unfortunately, Sony seems to have REGRESSED with this unit. From it's really really loud annoying chime when you first turn it on to it's poorly designed and confusing remote to it's unresponsive delay to changing channels when...
Flashlighting and clouding on three sets, bad viewing angles
J. Heller, Amazon
6 March 2011
Summary: -- Flashlighting and clouding -- I recently bought a 40EX710 (Sep 2010 production date) and noticeable flashlighting on the bottom and massive clouding on the RHS. I should point out that it was hard to see the flashlighting/clouding in the bright environment of the store.
Summary: This is our first flat panel TV and we really love it. We had no problems with the shipping and have had no problems with the TV since its arrival on Christmas. I did need some help from my son setting it up, however.
Summary: I'm not a super geek, nor a serious techie, but as a Joe Average with 3 computers, 3 televisions, a smart phone etc., I'm not completely without a clue. I've had this telly for a couple of weeks now, and I'm mightily impressed. It's a beautiful machine, with a sharp and clean picture.
Summary: Had this for 2 months. Today it developed a black bar on the right side of the screen which, after 37 minutes on the phone with Sony support, was not resolved. Luckily it's under warranty and will be repaired at home since we live in the boondocks.
Summary: I get an amazingly good picture both with HD and non-HD programming. The WiFi interface works well although the available content isn't great. I subscribed to the NetFlix service for $8.00/mo. and I use it nearly every day. Sony deserves its reputation for excellence.
Summary: AUDIO: Audio randomly drops out for 5 seconds, infrequently and randomly. I've found several other reports of this online, and it happens on TWO Sony Bravia 700 series flatscreens I have, the 40" and a 32" I purchased earlier this year.
Summary: This TV has great picture and sound. I connected my bluray player, cable box, PC, game systems, and iPod easily. There is an initial setup when you turn the TV on for the first time that guides you though the process. One thing I don;t like is the "WiFi ready" feature.
Summary: What can I say, it's a 40-inch, LED Bravia under $1,000. Tons of Internet apps already on it, great picture quality, and overall a great TV. You'll need a sound system though, music coming out of this sounds like it's out of a radio!
