Sony Bravia KDL-40S2010: Nice TV, but not sure on Picture Quality...
17 May 2013
Summary: This is my first big flat screen TV after having a Panasonic TFT "Big Box" beast for many years. Moving to HD made a big difference, but read on regarding picture quality. *** Set up *** Easy Peasy - I let it auto tune all the freeview channels but we use sky so it was just an HDMI cable to plug in really. *** Looks *** Very smart - even though it is a big screen, it is actually quite discreet which we prefer. The plastic does not seem to attract too much dust which Mrs.
Summary: This tv is absolutely fantastic. I never understood the big hoohar about HD until I bought this. Films are amazing to watch and so clear and crisp. I also watch a lot of live sport on it as well. It is actually almost as good as being there. It comes with a black frame and silver trim. It is very stylish and doesn't stick out like a saw thumb. Mine actually fits in nicely with the ambiance of the room. On the reliability of the tv I have not had a single problem.
Sony Bravia KDL-40S2010: Brilliant picture quality and generally good TV
14 November 2011
Summary: I love my Sony Bravia TV, I bought it as a package with a Sony PS3 and the two work brilliantly together. The picture quality of the TV is excellent, far better than what I thought it would be for the price (which was quite reasonable!) and the quality of Blu-Ray when the two devices are working together is awesome! I the free view package which is in built for the price you get pent of channels and I've never had any problem with them loading and working perfectly.
Pros: Great picture and good sound, in built free view
Summary: I've had my HD Sony Bravia KDL television for around a year now, and ever since the day I purchased the set I havn't had a single issue or problem with it. Although I hadn't utilised the HD input until recently (when I managed to convince Virgin Media to upgrade my TV box to a HD box for no extra monthly cost - and by the way everyone should try this!), I've found the HD side to the television just as impressive as the set as a package.
Pros: Good picture quality and internal/external controls
Summary: This tele used to be the main television in the house but we recently bought a new 52 inch tele so i was lucky enough to get this television for my room, barely even fits! When we used it for normal tele the picture was great, 1080i which is rather dandy. WE then invested in sky plus HD and the picture is absolutely amazing, especially when watch football games or any other sport.
Pros: Great picture
Cons: no Real disadvantages but sound isn't as high standard as the picture but still great
Summary: This Sony HDTV is the main tv in our house, in the living room. We've had it for about 3 years now and even bought a 5 year breakdown cover with it from Comet just incase there were any problems, but we haven't experienced any that we have had to change the tv or fix it to stop the problem. It has been great. The Tv is 40 inch and is quite big. It fits well in the room and the size is great to watch Sky programmes on, especially Sky Sports for the Football and Cricket.
Summary: This is an excellent LCD HD TV! Whilst the description above is full of hard to understand jargon, I will use simple words. The HD quailty on this TV is outstanding! I have another HD TV, but for some reason, the HD quality on this TV is much better, I don't know why this is the case, it maybe because of the brand - the other make is Samsung. The in-built speakers are more than adequate unlike the previous TV, which was main reason we had to replace it!
Summary: This TV is outstanding! We had tried the Sharp TV of the same size because Sharp has a good name and was a few hundred dollars cheaper than the Sony. However, we experienced issues with the Sharp - it has problems when showing analog channels with the channel indicator flickering on screen every minute or two. We took it back to Walmart and they allowed us to exchange it for the Sony with no questions asked. The Sony has a quality picture with both analog and digital.
Sony Bravia KDL-40S2010: One of the best LCD pannels on the market
8 August 2006
Summary: As the S-series is one of Sony's latest offerings in their LCD TV range, it incorporates their Bravia technology which combines enhanced picture processing and improved colour filtering, which in turn produces a great viewing experience! The picture quality is very impressive when using certain inputs, but does show up the poor quality of some signals such as the graphics on Sky Digital can look a bit blocky but DVDs and Games consoles are fantastic!
Pros: Immense picture quality, fast response time, loads of connectivity, built in freeview, looks great
Cons: It's a Sony, so expect to pay for the quality you get from them.
