Summary: At the offset I have to say I did NOT purchase my Sony tv from Amazon and it's the KDL-55EX723 model I have, but I thought some prospective buyers would like to know that what you buy at purchase date is not what you necessarily have 12 months on. I did not know that Sony frequently update the TV's software without prior approval and I'm sure in most cases it can be an improvement.
Summary: I wanted my new TV to be one with LED because of less energy consumption. So among other things this was the reason to buy this TV. Turned out it is just an ordinary LCD with a few LED's on the side. I feel misled. It works though, but still it gets very warm. I would not have bought it if, the information about it would have been more just.
Summary: Picture is subdued.Black levels and contrast fall short compared to similar priced makes such as samsung.I wont be purchasing a 100hz set again the pictures speed up and look sureal however it does add a rock solid look to the pictures which is nice without a flicker in sight.Colour depth is its main attribute other makes struggle to achieve the colour depth of this sony.
Summary: Great picture, mediocre sound. I bought this for the smart tv features. The good news is - it has iPlayer. The bad news is - it's an ancient version of iPlayer which doesn't do subtitles and there seem to be no plans to upgrade it. Avoid this tv if you have hearing difficulties. Update 13/1/13 - To be fair, it seems that there is a general problem with subtitles on smart tv iPlayers. I am not aware of any that support this.
Summary: I recently purchased this TV, being a Sony I assumed it would be of typical Sony Quality in all features...I was wrong. The 2D images on this set are absolutely fantastic, crystal clear, sharp & there are PLENTY of menu options to get the picture & sound set up to your personal liking (possibly too many menu's!?!
Summary: Pretty good 2d television but do not be tempted to splash out on a pair of 3d specs, although you can get a pair on Amazon for about £50 you will wish you hadn't as the the crosstalk on this television is spectacularly bad. So bad in fact that Sony should either recall this set or reduce the price and stop selling it as a 3D compatible.
