Summary: All good, nice looking slim TV. But the first thing I noticed when opening the box was that the remote was disappointingly black? I kinda thought like a previous Samsung purchase that it would be white, per the TV? Checked with Sony, black is the supplied colour with white TVs. Also, the remote seems an afterthought, a bit cheap quality'wise, not seemingly matching the quality of the TV which is otherwise great.
Summary: I bought this a few weeks ago and as usual the Amazon service was very good. The offer of a voucher when you subscribe to Lovefilm is highly tempting (and worthwhile), too. In almost every respect this is a wonderful small TV. It looks great in the small alcove where it's housed; the internet connectivity is impressive (a bit slow to navigate maybe), allowing access to BBC iPlayer, Lovefilm etc.
Summary: As a tv it works fine, though the set up is not as intuitive as most other brands. Picture and sound are very good and the white case makes it less obtrusive than the usual black one. I could not get this set to connect to my wifi. On auto, it doesnt even find the network, the only wifi product I have to give me this problem. It can find the network on manual and allows me to enter the security code for it, but the asks for another password to be input.
Summary: I see what the previous reveiwer (Ewan) is saying, but the Sony site also indicates that this TV has a Freeview HD tuner (DVB-T2). Why would Sony include an HD tuner without a full 1080 spec? Or, just possibly, has the Sony site got it wrong? Sony KDL26EX553BU 26-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview HD - Black Sony KDL26EX553BU 26-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview HD - White
Summary: There is an error in the Amazon product description. This model has a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 so is 'HD Ready' not 'Full HD 1080p'. This also applies to the Black model... Sony KDL26EX553BU 26-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview HD - Black . The full technical specification can be found on the Sony website.
