Best Picture I've seen on an LCD TV...........for 3 years
4 November 2011
Summary: I purchased this television in 2009. Was amazed at the features but most of all the picture quality. Bright colorful picture. Impressive array of adjustments. About 5 months ago, I started getting a double image on my screen when turned on. After 5 minutes the distortion would disappear and it would go back to the beautiful picture I came to love. About 2 months ago. The process became longer and more noticeable.
Summary: My husband and I bought our Sony Bravia 52XBR9 (our first LCD TV) July of 2009 when it just came out. We really love it because of the great features but early this month, we started seeing the horizontal lines people here have been complaining about. I guess we're luckier than most people who bought this model because at least, the TV has been with us for 27 months before we started having any problem with it.
Summary: Bought this tv a little over a year ago, started having 4 lines in the picture when first turned one, after about 10 min. the lines go away, called Sony, said to call for factory service (not under warrantee)to see what is wrong with it (service call $95.00), they said the LCD panel is BAD, $2,900 to fix, (I am not the only person that has had this problem, Google it), Sony would not do anything except for selling me a new tv at a discount, I would stay away from Sony...
Summary: I had read many of the reviews here and was very excited when I purchased my 52" Sony XBR9. The unit arrived and, initially, the picture lived up to my expectations. Not too bright, brillant colors, soft tones, etc. However, since I have had the unit I have had 3 issues... 1) Interfering with other HDMI devices. The Sony TVs are designed to be the "brains" of your home theater system - whether you want them to or not.
Summary: Being a long-time Sony customer, I went on to buy a Sony's top end line - XBR, hoping that it will last me for many many years. Only after one and a half years, the TV had a panel failure (according to the Sony authorized repair tech). Sony will not help you correct the issue. They have lost me as a customer.
Summary: We got this TV at a great buy of 1700$ which included BD player and Home theater system, got carried away by the price, I switched my mind from Samsung B750 to buy this XBR9.I got this TV and plugged in my DirecTV and was watching for 2 days and it wasnt very impressive, sound is great but the picture looks grain or blurry.
"Nice features but two sets with serious screen problems"
11 October 2009
Pros: Loved the features it offered, especially the internet access. Also liked the number of inputs and types.
Cons: Had to return the first set within a month of purchase when a 2-3inch broad vertical band appeared right in the middle of the screen. The band made it impossible to watch anything. Second set is also showing the same symptoms within a month.
