Summary: Sony has been a great brand since it was first formed and it continues to produce outstanding electricals - none better than the KDL-46Z4500. I have to say this is the best tv that I could have invested my money, its absolutely brilliant. Its Full HD as expected and have in built freeview tuner with an EPG-electronic programme guide. Whats more great about this Tv is that its picture frequency is a mammoth 200 hz which is brilliant for all you movie and sports lovers.
Summary: I use mine as everything from a PC monitor to a Blu-ray. It takes a while to disable all the enhancements that Sony sets on as default to improve standard definition sources, but once everything is turned off and you feed it 1080p signals through HDMI, the picture is very faithful. You may want to disable any of the set's wide colour gamut functionality outside of colour-managed PC use, though.
Pros: Excellent configurabilty and great colour,
Cons: No-defeatable edge-enhancement in "Video" mode.
Summary: I screened a lot of TVs before settling on the Bravia Z series - although I've always leant towards Sony, Panasonic & Pioneer for TV equipment. Did a side by side comparison w/ the Sony XBR series playing from HD TV & Blu-ray & actually preferred the Z despite the XBR's LED backlighting.
Pros: Brilliant picture once a little time is spent amending the settings, PS3 owners will be familiar w/ Cross Media Bar Interface. No dead pixels for me! =) Very good at displaying True HD pictures w/ depth.
Cons: A lot of fiddling is required to get the best picture ( but you will be rewarded if you persevere), Picture In Picture/ Twin Picture feature only allows you to view only one external input at a time.
Summary: We spent half a day price matching and comparing for this TV and it was well worth it! I'm still waiting for it to be delivered. We (my bf came along to play the husband, while I the ditzy wife, trust me it works to get things cheaper!) got 6 stores to compete for my dollars; Clive Peters, Clive Anthonys, Good Guys, RetraVision, JBHIFI.
Summary: When watching hi-def content such as blu-ray you'll be hard pressed to find a better picture. Has plenty of punch, vivid yet natural colours and deep blacks thanks to the 80,000:1 contrast ratio. Saw no sign of ghosting or juddering which seems to plague cheaper LCDs. The 200hz feature is only really useful when watching very fast sport or action, in most cases it's best to have this feature turned off as it makes movement feel a bit unnatural - too smooth if that's...
Pros: Stunning visuals, nice menus, great sound, dlan network streaming
Cons: Bit pricey, won't play video files from usb/memory card, 200hz overrated
