Summary: I think this TV is only available on the used market now, so this is somewhat pointless, except to say that if you can get this TV for a reasonable price then DO IT. Right now it's only available from one seller at 895 for a used device. You must be kidding me. However, when it was available in the 600 dollar range it was a great great buy. Like all of these TVs, it requires some tweaking of the picture out of the box but once you do that it looks GREAT.
Summary: Love the new TV!!! I have resisted bigger, flat screen TV's for a while, but am finding I love the image and clarity. Amazon offered a really good price as well. Very satisfied with Sony and Amazon!
Summary: We spent hours comparing the picture on this unit against others in the stores. Luckily, this unit was plugged up right next to several of the models we were researching at the time. What we found was that the picture really wasn't much different than some of the 1080/120 models we were looking at, all of which were priced at least $200 above this one. In fact, I noticed that this one seemed to have less "white out" than I saw on many of the other sets.
Summary: I purchased this SONY to replace a SAMSUNG ( see below). I have always been a big SONY fan and everything I have is SONY ,but like many of us SONY tends to be a little pricey and with budgets the way they are I like many was trying to save a few bucks, WRONG thing to do !! I had a SONY Bravia in the past and it lasted for years, one of those big 2 person to carry type tube TV's whihc was till working great when I got rid of it.After my husbnad died I had no one ot help...
Summary: I spent 34 years in the commercial audiovisual field and Sony was always the premier TV set we sold, rented or installed. Whe flat screen TVs came out now during my "golden years" they were way beyond my means. I watched TVs with 60Hz become 120Hz and then 240Hz and plasma and LCD become LED and OLED, and on and on. The technology river never stops flowing. The newest was always beyond my price.
Summary: Before purchasing this TV for a guest room, I was worried about the negative reviews, but after two weeks of use, I am relieved that it is a pleasant surprise. Connecting to Verizon FIOS using an HDMI 1.4 cable I did not see any fuzzy picture as described by some reviewers here. The picture is sharp and the colors are vibrant. That said, it is not as sharp, detailed or saturated as my Samsung 1080P 240 hz HDTV that costs significantly more, but that's to be expected.
Summary: I have always bought SONY tv's. After 21 years my sony tv in my bedroom finally died, so I knew I had to come to AMAZON, because they ALWAYS have GREAT deals and I saw this SONY LCD 40" and I knew I had to have it that I bought 2....All I have to say is LOVE THEM!!!!!
