Summary: After I first got this tv I noticed it would pause sometimes and get pixilated and the sound would go out, it would only last for a second or two, but it was annoying. I called my cable company, thinking that there is no way there could be something wrong with a brand new tv.
Summary: I purchased this as my first HDTV back in August of 2009 and she is still going strong. After calibrating it using the Spears and Muncil calibration Blu-Ray, the screen is perfect in my view. Colors are vibrant and the picture details are crisp. Very good black levels for an LCD as well.
Summary: I've bought sony products for nearly 20 years. if its not sony, its yamaha or klipshe. but, january 16th, of 2010, i bought the kdl-40v5100 from ultimate eletronics. november 11th, 2010, i noticed a blurr then a sound lost for about 10 seconds. i didn't think it was the tv, so i looked past it.
Summary: I like the TV, but am very disappointed with the internet features. I tried the wireless setup, with the Cisco WRT series dual band (5Ghz/2.1Ghz) high speed wireless that Sony recommends. A total, complete pain to set up.
Summary: This is a great TV! I have never had any of the problems that other people were talking about. The only issue that I seemed to have was when I was watching the movie Batman, the night scenes made the whole screen go black. But there are some inbedded menu choices that fixed this issue.
Summary: I purchased this tv for 825.00$ on display and I cannot find a single flaw with this tv after I received the firmware update through Sony. For an LCD television, the blacks are incredible and blu-rays looked unbelievable!
