Pros: The picture is crisp. Colors are good. We like the menu layouts and the options offered. When I switch from "General" picture mode to "Sports", or "Games", or "Cinema", the difference is noticeable. The blacks are surprisingly good.
Cons: The sound levels need some adjusting for watching an HD television signal. We had some trouble hearing dialogue, but were able to make the necessary adjustment. The deepest blacks do tend to vacillate between black and dark blue.
Summary: I did a lot of research before deciding to buy this Sony TV. This is my first HD TV and is also the most I have spent on a TV, so I wanted to make the right decision. I should also say that I am not an expert on the color management of TVs, so I won't comment on those specifics. Overall, I am very pleased with this TV. It arrived promptly and was very easy to set up (I have a DirecTV DVR, DVD player and Wii console).
Summary: This is my first LCD and I have had this Sony for 4 weeks. We have definitely enjoyed it. We use it for movies and for sports, and so far this unit has not disappointed(I can actually see who has the basketball now!!!). For me, this unit was easy to set-up. Viewing is very clear from approx. 15'. As for sound, I don't have the best hearing but my wife states she likes the quality. This TV will soon be wall mounted and I will hopefully enjoy the sound as much as my wife.
Summary: I purchased this Sony LCD television a little over a week ago as an upgrade to my 27" Sony CRT. After much research, mostly through reading internet reviews, I decided to go with the Sony and I must say I am thoroughly satisfied. It has fairly easy setup, although it will take some tweaking to get the picture just right. Right out of the box, the ambient sensor is set to on. So when you first turn it on, the picture will appear dark.
Pros: I love the Sony reliablity and I've owned other Sony TV's. I like the appearance. And I couldn't beat the price after Best Buy put it on sale for $764.99. It's certainly not the best HDTV, but it's good enough for the bedroom.
Cons: The thickness. I would have liked it to be thinner. And I prefer the speakers on the front instead of the back or underneath. I don't feel like I'm getting a good sound.
"Great TV for the avg user, looks amazing, no problems"

Pros: All the picture features you would expect, motion blur and 120Hz makes almost anything look good, swivel stand looks and works so great I didn't even have to wall mount it, great for video games-no lag, excellent simulated surround sound for the type
Cons: USB port is virtually useless, remote can be confusing, menu options offer no description so you have to have the manual at hand to make any tweaks, not Internet connectible, somewhat thick
"Decent picture for price if you can live with the flaws"

Pros: Matte screen! (a must for LCDs in most rooms) Reasonably accurate picture once adjusted. Good blacks & shadow detail. Styling understated, (swivel is too loose), won't clash with your LR decor. ATSC tuner is fairly quick (faster than the TWC box).
Cons: Remote is horribly designed. Input & mode display overlay eats up too much screen, stays on too long. 120Hz is useless w/o ability to disable smoothing. Menu system is waaay too big and obtrusive, obscures the picture while making adjustments.
