Summary: The TV can loaded with the latest firmware. It arrived in excellent condition, no damage to the box. Setup was simple. My Oppo 83 is hooked directly into a HDMI port; the picture look superb. I just wish I had bought two at $697; the price is back up to $899. My Roku goes into a second HDMI port, and it look great.
Summary: I was in the market for the new LED TVs and the nice Plasmas such as Panasonic with the G10 panel, although the later options were technically superior in terms of image quality, the difference was not much in real life. I have this hooked through HDMI directly from my computer and I watch 1080p videos and movies, they look great. The 120 Hz is really handy for gaming, handles both my PS3 and my high end PC games like Crysis with no ghosting.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Good Connection Options, Good Remote Control, Good Resolution, Great Picture Quality, Reduced Glare
Summary: I love this Sony TV, it is the Bravia series that allows you to sync with other Sony products, like my dvd player and home sound system. The picture is great and I like the many options in the menu that allows you to customize the TV. Most people don't bother using this system and that is a shame. You can make the TV look better or maybe I should say look the way you prefer to watch it. TV's were designed to be watched in the dark, not light.
Summary: I bought this from Amazon.com in December 2009 for $699. Upsides: Sleek look, nice menus, beautiful pictures. Can't wait to check out Blu-ray on this. I like that it passes optical audio out; don't know if that's standard these days but I can see that will be useful when paired with an audio system. Love the picture- and sound-tweaking options. Downsides: Start-up delay (10-12 sec?
Summary: Great tv for a medium size bedroom. Excellent picture quality, with lots of hookup options. Sound quality is not great, but this is not a issue with me because i have it hooked up to my stereo system.
Pros: Attractive Design, Good Connection Options, Good Remote Control, Good Resolution, Great Picture Quality
Summary: This is the first flat screen HDTV that I have ever purchased. I, like many others looking for HDTVs, did a lot of research before finding "the one". I'm extremely satisfied with this as my first purchase. I've owned it for a little over 2 months now and have gotten a lot of use out of it already. Right out of the box the TV not only looked great but had a sturdy feel to it. This is a well designed TV and doesn't feel flimsy or cheaply made.
Summary: I needed HDTV for the bedroom and wanted one that was wall mountable and viewable at a 12' distance. Having recently acquired a superb Bravia 55XBR8 for the living room I just wanted to scale it down a size or two. The picture qualities are similar, with true colors and dark blacks with few visual artifacts. This a great midsize TV for sports.
