Summary: We bought this TV for my mother and it stopped working after 3 1/2 years. I was shocked and surprised that Sony would put out such a terrible product. I've had Sony products before but I can guarantee this will be the last. When I called customer service, the guy said "well you should have bought the extended warranty." Really? I've asked others if they've had problems and it seems it is an issue. I will not be buying anymore Sony products.
Summary: I purchased this Bravia in the fall of 2008. I find it to be a spectacular television for the price. Good picture quality, good speakers, and I haven't had a hiccup from it in all the years of ownership. Another great feature is that it still has a lot of inputs-lots of newer TV's just don't have the inputs of the old ones. Recommended if you want a budget TV these days.
Summary: I purchased this TV in 2008. In Sept 2011, a large white band appeared horizontally across the bottom of the display. The band covers almost half the display. Although the TV image can be seen through the white band, it is extremely annoying. Considering that this TV cost almost $600, I would have expected it to last more than 3 years. Based on my research, the repair would cost more than a new TV so I replaced it a few days ago - and the replacement is not a Sony.

Excerpt: When we were given the SONY Bravia LCD TV as a gift ,a few years back, everyone in the family was excited! We had never had such a nice TV. The screen was big enough for our whole family to sit comfortably on the couch and still be able to watch our shows. No more fighting and crowding around our little 15" TV!

Summary: This TV was great until the LCD went this week. It would cost more to fix it than to buy a new one. Mine was manufactured in April 2008. Supposedly, LCD TV's are supposed to last a lot longer then 4 years. This seems to be a common problem with this model. It suddenly developed vertical lines all over the screen and that was the end of it. I guess I should feel lucky, because a lot of people don't even get 4 years out of them. The replacement will not be a Sony.
Summary: For three years this has been a great television as it should be since I paid almost $600 for it in 2008. But the last month it has crapped out. I thought it was smoke or something streaking the TV but I cleaned it, and cleaned it again, to no avail. The lines are embedded in the screen itself and they look horrible. Imagine 4 lines two inches wide running down from the top to almost the bottom and you get the idea.
Summary: I was happy at first this television. However, in less that 2 years the picture took on a white washed looked that lasted for about a month then the picture just disappeared. I own another Sony television set and have not had any problems and I'm unable to get any resolution from Sony as to why in less than 2 years the television died.
Summary: I bought this TV from craiglist for 300 dollars, i think it is a pretty good deal, the black is really black the color is really bright and colorful, if you are having problem, try this configuration backlight: max Picture : max brightness :40 color : 55 hue : 0 color temp : neutral sharpness : 56 advance setting clear white : high light sensor : on i gotten the best view for my eyes through this.
