Summary: this is a four star because its decent looking tv and basic for watching movies and play some video games but not the best. this was for my brother who doesn't really care about motion blur or if it has decent black levels, this tv is perfect for him because its great source of hd content even though it may not be the best.
Summary: This is not a bad TV. I guess it does what it's designed to. Has a decent picture, HD channels do give an outstanding picture but the regular channels I was used to watching just don't show right on this "widescreen" platform. I prolly still have to play with the many many settings to get the picture I miss from my old CRT tube. Good price for a good TV. I did not expect breathtaking quality at around $350.
Summary: Sony has another great product. The only downfall is that the PIP is set in one of five positions and has three preset sizes. For some reason "PIP" is not available like it used to be in the 20" -32" models by any maker. You have to watch the model numbers very closely because the name is the same and different features are available with only one number changed. The Sony Brovia must come in 100 different model numbers.
Summary: Pleased with the set overall. The audio could be better as the speakers face behind the set and need to be loud to hear the set well (but doing it that way seems to improve the sound tone somewhat). No jack for headphones, nor can the remote adjust the volume of the RCA audio outputs (I have to listen through headphones by connecting my headphones to the cable set top box, and then change the cable box settings every time I switch from speakers to headphones).
Summary: This base grade 2011 model does all that is expected at this price point and resolution. Very clear picture with just a hint of graying in the black areas. The 5.1 audio out is great for older style A/V receivers that don't handle HDMI input. One digital audio (toslink) cable from the tv handles all audio to the receiver that was input to the tv via HDMI. Easy set up but swivel base would have been nice. One piece of deceptive advertising is the PIP funtion.

18 April 2013
