List All 1 PricesThe Sharp’s biggest plus point could well be its affordable retail price — just 1,100 GBP! User-friendly operation and low power consumption add to the list of positives, making the Sharp an excellent everyday TV. For more advanced home-cinema tasks, however, this Japanese TV isn’t top of the ‘yes’ pile — its shortcomings become especially relevant in this environment: pronounced viewing-angle dependence, average motion clarity, and weaknesses in HD detail... Bringing together a mixture of good and not-so-good elements, the LE700 isn't good enough to make it to the top of our list. However, it still marks a real step forward in terms of energy consumption, where it's the most efficient TV we've ever seen. Read more
The Sharp LC-LE700UN's LED backlighting doesn't elevate its picture quality beyond the LCD norm, but does help make it the most efficient TV we've ever tested. Read more
The LC-46LE700E's sound doesn't have the power or dynamic range to give the set's pictures the accompaniment they really deserve. But, despite the 46LE700E's minor imperfections, it enthusiastically illustrates just how potent a technology LED backlighting is. It should also be enough to get Sharp back on the UK TV map. Adding 100Hz processing into the mix, Sharp's Aquos LC46LE700E certainly improves on the cheaper Aquos LC40LE600E's already good picture quality, at least as far as standard-definition material is concerned. Read more
My family purchased this television to replace an old Mitsubishi CS-35301 CRT, so my impressions are relative to that model. We have owned this set for approximately one month. I have been using it to watch cable programming (so I cannot comment about its off-the-air reception), DVDs via S-Video, and to play video games on a Nintendo Wii console. Read more
I would fully recommend this TV to everyone. The best part is you can buy another 37" TV for the bedroom with the $800-$1000 you saved by not buying the Samsung! Read more
Main TV in a large family room. Great contrast and resolution even on sports. Depth of colors in all lite conditions is amazing. In a large room it would be wise to add a Surround sound system. Read more
I was somewhat concerned to buy from an online retailer, but I have to give Kudos to NewEgg. They've been fantastic on this transaction. It was delivered via UPS double boxed with packing material surrounding the inside box (not even Sharp ships it that way) in 3 days for free. I would definitely recommend doing business at NewEgg for large TVs from this experience. Read more
The picture resolution is excellent. Comparing Sharp with other named brand such as Samsung, Sony, LG, this, by far, is my top choice. Sharp has been reasonably priced compare to the other 3 brands mentioned. It takes a couple of seconds longer to turn the TV on vs the others but it is subjective to how much this lag is to your importance. It is a big thick (still light for LED) compare to Samsung product but overall, it has a slick design. Read more
