Summary: This is one massive TV. I give it 5 plus stars even though there will be negatives that follow. If you want a 'massive' TV and you believe the price is right for you - then buy it without reservation. It will provide what you are expecting in a 'massive' TV. Positives: The best for the price I paid -(last one at my Costco) Went back and watched Easy Rider, True Grit and Twilight - all in high def 5.1 sound MOST EXCELLENT Buy TV if you are in to movies and can always...
Summary: This TV offers incredible bang for my buck. Huge, crystal clear HD. Crisp colors, works very well with my Directv Genie HD DVR. Viewing angles are terrific. Speakers are garbage but I don't use them so it is of no concern to me. 80 inches of high def glory at this price point... Wow! Heavily used for over 6 months now and it's doing a great job.
Summary: Once you go with a large TV, it's hard to go back to a smaller unit! This thing is HUGE. With viewing distances under 10 ft., 80 inches may be overkill. DirecTV/cable broadcasts that are heavily compressed do not look that great on the TV due to the artifacts, especially when seen up close. For things like Netflix and Blu-ray, they look great even from around 8 ft.
Summary: So I bought this 80" TV and decided to send it back within 24 hours...probably less than 4 view time. Just wasn't a good picture, in fact it was terrible, I found Blurays to look awful and Netflix was unbearably blocky. Some people might like it, but I'm too picky about my picture. I went with the Samsung 75" 6400 instead and I think the difference is night and day, despite giving up 5" on the diagonal.
Summary: This tv is massive and full of awesome. This particular unit was either a refurb or a return with light cosmetic damage but I have yet to find anything wrong with it. It even came already set up most likely due to the fact that it was previously owned. No real complaints here! Though I only gave it 4 stars because the sound, while good, isn't great.
Would be a great TV if not for some backlight problems

Summary: The TV is generally very good; picture quality is good, wifi was easy to setup, and the menu system easy and responsive. 3 stars for some back-light inconsistencies when the screen is a solid color, with some particularly bad warping on one side. Amazon, as usual, is excellent about shipping a replacement. Assuming the next one doesn't have the backlighting problems, this is definitely a 4/5 star TV. Update 12/4: Replacement came in a few days after with no problems.
