AVOID SHARP AQUOS LED TV. BROKEN WITHIN 15 MONTHS. SHARP DOESN'T HONOR PROMISE
2 weeks ago
Summary: I purchased a SHARP 70" AQUOS LED Smart TV LC-70LE650U on May 2013 and within 15 months it was defective. It started with a line across the entire screen and few weeks after the screen of the SHARP AQUOS became black. I contacted Sharp Customer Service on August 11th 2014 and after several calls and five weeks later, on Sept 18th, Sharp promised a refurbished model in exchange within " 2 weeks" including delivery and installation.
Summary: OK. How long should it last? This one made it about 9 1/2 months. Then one night a line appeared along the bottom of the screen. The next morning, 2 lines. The next morning, three lines. And now there is hardly a picture at all. Sharp is cooperative but SLOW. They want to see pics of the images and of course they need the serial number which is on the back of the tv mounted to the freaking wall.
Summary: I love this thing. We moved into a super-modern loft and my old 40" LCD was too small for the wall. When this arrived, my wife thought it was waaaay too big and looked ridiculous. 6 months later, neither of us could imagine looking at anything smaller. No it's not 4k, yes it's flat. I'm sure it has built-in speakers, I think it's a smart tv, I think it has apps, I don't care. I plug smarter things into it.
Summary: I usually don't do reviews but being it's a big item and the reviews helped me on this buy I will. First off I am shocked. No "BS" about this tv and it's picture. It literally puts my 4500 Samsung plasma 3D to shame and I mean this with all my heart. The control set up was easy and yes out of the box the soap opera effect is on. But I used the review under mine talking about the effect and how to fix it.

Summary: Bought this model at best buy. Had several pixels go out on the lower left within the first year. Exchanged it with authorization from sharp. Next TV, same issue within 6 MO. Went through process all over again. Examined floor model at store, it also had bad pixels. These pixels are either bright white or black. They fail to show any color. Go to a store that has one on display and I bet you can see what I'm talking about.
Summary: Wicked Awesome!! I'm an AV junkie and have had a number of different TVs, HDTVs, etc over the years. I have a Panasonic (3D) and Samsung Plasma but was looking for "Movie Room" TV for the basement we are remodeling. Pricing and features - this looked like a good buy. I've purchased some big items through Amazon in the past and their delivery service has really improved recently. I'm not receiving notices on ETA and when a package is delivered which I love.
Summary: Bought this for my hubby's birthday, he loves it. Picture is great. I did end up buying a sound bar, the Visio s3821. The sound is not only not loud enough, but it sounds like it's being pushed through a tin can. This tv was easy set up and had several input options. Setting up the internet connection was a little more tricky so I did it manually which was much easier since the tv wouldn't find the network on it's own. But honestly, that took me less than 10 minutes.
Summary: It cost me $2000 dollars for this TV to watch 15 months. Picture just went out and the only help I got from Sharp is to do reset on TV. After that didn't work, I end up paying for a TV repairman, recommended by them to throw it away because LCD panel was bad. I will never ever buy a Sharp product again. Their lack the abilitry to stand behind their product and customers.
Summary: the sharp aquos picture is just fine....my problem is with the manufacturer........the tv developed white spots on the screen about 4 months after purchase.....sharp has agreed to replace the tv.........problem is they dont have one in stock to give me.....i have been waiting for about a month now and they tell me they cant find a set to give me.....almost comical except for the fact im watching a tv with white spots all over screen......
Summary: All I can say is wow. I bought it from Best Buy and actually had planned on buying a Samsung 65" but they didn't have it in stock and were going to charge a delivery fee because of the distance. We decided on this TV because it was cheaper and had everything we wanted and a great picture. It is fantastic with a very clear picture. We particularly like the light sensor feature which automatically adjusts the background light to the ambient light in the room.
