Excerpt: I thought you might find a few things I learned about tweaking the image of the model 650 useful. This TV offers great picture value for the buck, and decent features for the price. The sound is typical for thin screen TV's (which means not up to what you are accustomed to if you are transitioning from any sort of older type TV).Keep in mind that the speakers face towards the rear of the TV.
Excerpt: My first Large Flat Screen, finally had to let my 53" 1999 Sony projection go ! Purchased due to good reviews on BandH and other sites, turns out they were accurate. Love the automatic light adjustment, I have a very bright house and even with all the windows open the picture is clear as a bell.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Great Picture Quality, Reduced Glare
Excerpt: Required a large screen, specs measured to required size for designated room. The interface can be challenging to Non Tech geeks...Definitely Upgrade your cable box to HD. The sound truly requires an upgrade. The salesperson I dealt with was amazing and extremely helpful. I do not think I would buy electronics anywhere else but B & H!!
Pros: All the connections options I could ever need, Best looking TV out there, Energy Efficient, Great Picture Quality, LED-backlit
Cons: Difficult To Set Up, Glare, Poor Sound Quality
Excerpt: OK, so everyone wants to say they made the best purchase, but I really think I did. Here's whey: Great picture, looks like 3D even though it isn't. Consider turning "Film Mode - Advanced" down a bit for a more realistic picture. Pretty simple to set up. Sound is, well, meh to start with but turn on the bass boost and sharpen up the treble through the on-line menu and it's quite good.
Pros: All the connections options I could ever need, Best looking TV out there, Easy To Set Up, Good Remote Control, Great Picture Quality
Excerpt: Using this tv as a digital sign for my store. Created Jpgs and m4v video files and they run beautifully with no problems setting up. Put the files on a usb flash drive and they loaded right up and ran without hickup. Connecting the tv to my wireless network was a snap too. Also teathered my ipad so I can push videos to it. Very cool feature. Requires using the youtube app on your tablet to connect to the tv. Other apps work similarly.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Remote Control, Great Picture Quality, Reduced Glare
Summary: I've been in the market to replace my aging Samsung 56" DLP. As far as 70" models go this one is great. It is last years model but nothing has changed from 2012 to 2013 models. I picked this one as a Sharp Refurbished unit and saved $600+. My price was $1399.99 TOTAL. The picture is great. As all flat panels go, the audio is par but if you have a 70", you will most likely have an external sound system (at a bare minimum a soundbar/woofer).
Summary: This is my first review that I have written. This is actually going to be a pleasure to write because most of my experiences are not to great. This is the best move that I have made. Prior to buying this Sharp 70 inch & model, I had purchased a 60 inch Sharp led TV. After owning it for several months I gave in to buy this 70 inch Sharp. It was always in the back of my head anyway, I should have bought the 70 inch, over & over again.
Summary: Every time somebody walks in my house, they gaze at the TV. "What size is that?!?!" Of course, they compliment the picture quality, too. Love the energy-saving features. I could do without the internet connectivity, but I guess it's good that the firmware upgrades are easy to receive that way!
