Summary: Cons: 1. Netflix will not work if there is an upgrade to the firmware available. 2. Upgrading firmware from the TV menu will not work at the first try. Around the 5th try, it will work, but it takes 20 minutes each time. 3. White "clouds" on the black screen. 4. The front buttons have stopped working twice, requiring me to ship the TV twice for warranty repair at about 1 week turn-around each time. This is a poor purchase, pick another TV. Pros: 1.
Do not buy! Horrible tv and horrible experience with Sharp
Quiche "Quiche", Amazon
24 September 2011
Summary: Do not believe the positive reviews of this product. Received it today (Saturday) and I am returning it after wasting hours trying to get the HDMI to work. This is a miserable television. If you have a bad back, assembling the tv stand and getting the cables plugged in is pure torture. The cable outlets are placed in awkward positioning and makes it terribly difficult to connect your other equipment.
Summary: I got the LC-40LE830U at the beginning of July and have tried to love it. Really I have. I have 4 video inputs to the Sharp: analog cable with QAM digital channels; Sony DVD player via HDMI; Mac Mini with HDMI; Wii over component. I have the audio, SPDIF from the Mac and the DVD player hooked up to to a H&K AVR. The audio out of the TV is also hooked up to the AVR. So whenever I use the Mac or the DVD the TV isn't doing anything with the sound.
