Excerpt: We down sized from a 55" to this 40" in order to get a better quality tv. We made an excellent choice. You can see every color. Sharp Aquos is the only brand to have 4 color technology. Very crisp, clear and like the people are right in your room. Watching tv or a movie on a different tv just doesn't compare. We liked it so much we even got the matching Blu Ray player for it.
Summary: It arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. Setup was easy and the picture is everything I had hoped it would be. Plenty of HDMI connections, more than I could possibly use. Did I mention the gorgeous picture? Nothing on the bad side has turned up.
Summary: I picked this set up for under a grand with a free Sharp Blu-Ray player thrown in. Having waited in anticipation for nearly a week for delivery I couldn't help myself as I pulled it from the box and set about setting it up immediately it came through the door. Linked up with some quality HDMI leads and the picture from all sources is excellent. That includes the SD pictures from the in-built freeview receiver, my SKY HD box and the Blu-Ray.
Pros: Very easy to set up out of the box; loads of connectivity options; the LED full-backlit panel provides extremely bright crisp pictures with strong handling of blacks; 100Hz provides smooth flowing video with minimal issue
Cons: None so far. Only reason I gave a '4' for features is the lack of localised LED dimming available on some sets but in fairness at this price you cannot have it all!
Summary: I picked one of these up from JB Hifi on Boxing Day for my parents at the bargain basement price of $896 (and bonus 500GB PVR available by redemption). Once properly calibrated the picture quality is spectacular. Double thumbs up here.
Pros: Fantastic picture quality and excelptional value
Summary: Had this TV for about 1 week now and I am greatly impressed with the picture quality. the only problem I have in my setup is that it doesn't seem to pass dolby digital sound from my DVD/Recorder through the optical output.
Cons: dolby digital pass through to optical output
Summary: Samsung is doing it alot better? No. Side by side in store, the Sharp has a noticeably better picture quality. Plus, it has a 3 year manufacturers warranty and is actually back lit LED, as apposed to the Samsungs which are edge-lit LED. Sure, the Samsungs are thing and look good, buy your paying for aesthetics over quality (both picture and build quality). The sharp is a much better choice, and only $2099!
Summary: Lovely crisp picture, real feeling of depth in HD images. Watched a few blu-rays and am very impressed. So far no halos around figures at all (which drives me crazy on other sets). Not too shabby with SD either. Watched some SD Channel 10 programmes such as Lie to Me and the PQ was really very good. The sound is really first rate for TV speakers. I like the capacity to switch from any device straight back to FTA channels by putting the appropriate number into the remote.
Summary: Had this for a week now and love it. Have watched sport, blu-ray movies and played a lot of PS3 and all looks great. No complaints noted as in editors review. Saw it side-by-side the Samsung LED in store and the Sharp had the edge in contrast. Unbeatable at current price of around $2200 - with an XBOX to boot.
