AMAZING TV

Gustavo P., Newegg
3 January 2011
  • Summary: I don't know what is saying who rated it with only one egg... Also saying that plasma TV's are better...?? I did not used it for gaming but I watched the world soccer cup in this TV and the images were incredible.
  • Pros: LED, Inexpensive, low power consumption, amazing image, lots of HDMI ports (and other ports), internet connection, USB, 120 Hz, 1080 p, bright colors even with all the windows open and the sunlight coming through the windows, easy set up, good sound.
  • Cons: Slow to turn on (around 10 seconds) and to change channels (around 2 sec). A little bit thick to hang it out in a wall (but not impossible). I put it in a corner on a stand and you would never know how thick it is, so... I wouldn't care about this.

Measure thrice, cut twice...

Tim, Amazon
7 December 2010
  • Summary: I bought this TV after a lot of independent research on the current models and available technologies. I was leaning towards Plasma because I game a bit and need low lag and clear, high-speed motion and they have excellent color contrast.

I love this thing

Bryan M., Newegg
29 July 2010
  • Summary: This TV is very versatile. I have it connected to a GameCube, a Wii, a PS3, an Xbox360, a laptop, and an upsampling DVD player. It seems very reliable - everybody in the family uses this TV, so it's on at least 8 hours a day. After 10 months, it still works like new (knock on wood... :)
  • Pros: -Beautiful picture. -Nice, well-saturated color. -Bright, even in the low-power eco-mode. -Lots of inputs of all types, plus optical audio output. -Low power - does not ever get hot. -No perceptible lag on games (via component or HDMI). -Pretty good OTA tuner. -Lots of unanticipated HDMI features...
  • Cons: -Speakers a little tinny ( but that's what sound systems are for). -The internet features (news, weather, etc.) are cool, but too slow to be useful. -Some lag when gaming via the S-Video input (using my old Nintendo GameCube) - I would expect this, however. -If I put my ear right next to it, ther...

great picture

Karen, Amazon
24 July 2010
  • Summary: I had a Samsung LCD tv that died so I needed something to replace it. After checking with Consumer Reports I went with this one. It's one of their top rated and I agree. After checking around I found the lowest price at Amazon. com.

Excellent TV

Bernadette D., Newegg
9 July 2010
  • Summary: If you've had other LCDs, you might be picky by now. But I feel this is an amazing TV, well worth the money. With almost 1/3rd the power consumption of regular TVs and LCDs, this will definitely help your electricity bill if you use your TV a lot.
  • Pros: Does everything it should. LED LCD technology is great. I've held out on LCDs for a long time. Just replaced my 32 tube TV with this and couldn't be happier. Running 1080p over HDMI from the computer with DVDs and Blu-Ray. Wonderful setup for displaying stuff to friends and family. Blows my regul...
  • Cons: On the very first movie I went to watch, I noticed some stuttering during fast moving scenes. This was because I was using the "standard" AV Mode Setting. Just click the A/V mode button a few times until you get to Game or Movie setting and it's perfectly smooth.

Inexpensive for an LCD with LED backlighting

James C., Newegg
25 June 2010
  • Summary: The bottom line: The Sharp LC-LE700UN's LED backlighting doesn't elevate its picture quality beyond the LCD norm, but does help make it the most efficient TV we've ever tested.
  • Pros: The good: Inexpensive for an LCD with LED backlighting; extremely energy efficient; effective video processing that can separate antiblur and dejudder functions; intriguing selection of interactive widgets; superb built-in support including live help with remote access; solid selection of picture...
  • Cons: The bad: Black levels not as deep as LED and some non-LED-based LCDs; less-accurate grayscale; glossy screen reflects ambient light; minor backlight uniformity issues.

SHarp dropped the ball guy

Adrian A., Newegg
29 May 2010
  • Summary: Only thing i can tell you is read up deeply on the net about things you are going to buy. I have bought MANY MANY T.V.s from newegg and other online stores. I have researched before I bought. I have found out which t.v. to get that doesn't blur during gaming, movies and sports.
  • Pros: For the first posted comment guy who said in his other thoughts that LED and LCDs are horrible for gaming and watchin sports. uh not really if you know what to look for when buying them. ALSO if you are willing to pay for some thing good. YOU do get what you pay for! Trust me. Plasmas are not doi...

Sharp dropped the ball big time on this one!

Chris M., Newegg
12 May 2010
  • Summary: I thought I learned my lesson 3 yrs, but I didn't LED or LCD Tv's are horrible Tv's if you watch any kind of sports at all, let alone gaming. Plasma Tv's have the best picture and you can actually watch sports and a play games without the constant blurring. Stay away from LED/LCD Tv's
  • Pros: Very energy efficient.
  • Cons: I purchased this model elsewhere and glad I did since it will be shipped back tomorrow. Washed out colors, LED makes no improvement. Black levels are terrible. Slow response times. Even with the 120hz on and film mode selected you still get a lot of blurring on sports. My Panasonic VIERA 42" Plas...

great tv...

hans w., Newegg
8 May 2010
  • Pros: very power efficient, backlit LED (not sidelit like the gimmick samsung thin models) so it has more uniform lighting, internet widgets, lots of inputs great integration with sharp blu-ray player i bought used (aquos link so you only need one remote) also very light weight since its led not glass ...
  • Cons: i can't say there are any cons. I even got mine really cheap so that it was about the same price as most ccfl tvs (cheaper than some even)
