Less Than A Star for Longevity, Sharp Customer Service
3 October 2013
Summary: I purchased this television as a Christmas gift for my husband. We used it in our basement den and it had great picture quality. Until about a month ago when the power supply failed, less than 1/3 of the way through the lifespan we had expected the product to have. We researched the problem online and were shocked to discover that there are many YouTube videos and tech support forums dedicated to the failure of the power supply on Sharp Aquos TVs.
Summary: I love this TV its great for all movies and evan better if you Like you PS3 i don't feel like Putting Every thaing that would make this TV a great Buy For you first HD TV so if you have ?'s just email me.
Summary: Purchased this set in March, 2010. It has an awesome picture, especially after adding the HD through direct tv. It really seems like you can reach in and touch the people. This was a replacement for our 20 year old Sony and the technology jump almost gave us whiplash but what a great result.
Summary: I'm a newbie to HDTV but I know what I like to see and I'm seeing it. This TV has a very clear picture and was extremely easy to set up. I only did the basics: plugged in the antenna (no cable for me), the DVD player (just bought the Blu-ray player and HDMI cable), the GameCube and added the channels. Very straight forward. Minor quibble with how to delete television stations. You can't change the channel while you're editing the. My old set up digital box did that.
Summary: The monitor works great!! Picture quality is top notch. The set up was a breeze and the remote is simple to understand. The volume quantity is a bit low on some broadcasts and using a supplemental sound system fixes that. I have zero complaints or concerns with this set. The price was also fantastic. There have been several sales in the mall and online and I have not seen a better price yet!! Definetly would recommend it.
Summary: Based on the reviews for this TV and the reputation for excellent picture quality of the Sharp Aquos LCD TVs, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. While bright colors were vivid, all darker colors become "muddled" together. To my surprise, during a side-by-side comparison of this TV and my 42" Vizio LCD TV, the picture of the Vizio blew this away.
Summary: I bought this TV after a lot of independent research on the current models and available technologies. I was leaning towards Plasma because I game a bit and need low lag and clear, high-speed motion and they have excellent color contrast. My research ended when I saw this on Amazon and compulsively bought it. Why? LED would mean brighter colors and greater contrast ratio than Plasma! The 120Hz refresh rate should eliminate the motion issues that all LCDs have!
Summary: Have only had the Sharp LED for a month but it has worked perfectly from the first day until now. Was very easy to set-up and to interface with our cable system. Aside from a good price for a 40" LED, I was interested in having a set that had many options for connecting different devices. Our grandchildren have N64, GameCube, and WII attached. I also have a couple of VCR's (yes I still use them) which I had to attach.
Summary: This was purchased as a gift since I already own a similar model. It was either damaged in shipment or not refurbished well enough. My TV has a great picture and this one did too, but the sound was dead with a screen error saying "AMP" ... something. The set was returned and my payment refunded. The transaction went well, although I will think more than twice about web orders in the future.
Summary: I'm not sure I'm a fan of the LED technology when you get a cheap-o TV. I guess I got what I deserved for not checking out the TV before buying it on the Internet... The pre-set factory colors were awful -- yellow is green, people's faces are purple. There are LOTS of settings to adjust, but no matter how I play with the colors, I'm never happy overall with the way it looks.
