Dead pixel

Sam E. Everhart Jr., Amazon

  • Summary: One dead pixel in the middle of the screen! Not worth returning because it was so cheap. Other than that it makes a good bedroom TV.

background noise resolved, still just OK

A. Alcala "Mexglx", Amazon
9 October 2012
  • Summary: I've had it hooked up for a week. I have been noticing when you turn up the volume there is background noise. Its annoying. Picture is fine. Connections in the back are pretty flimsy. When connecting the component video and audio cables the jacks are flimsy and move quite a bit. The remote control has a very flimsy feel. Will check tech support and return if it doesn't get resolved.

  • Summary: : Given the disparity in reviews, I think one of three things has occurred. 1. TVs were manufactured in different plants. 2. Different production runs turned out different quality TVs. 3. Quality control at the manufacturer is poor. With these thoughts in mind I'm posting my serial# for comparison purposes.
  • Pros: Got it for a low price. Lots of inputs including VGA. Swivel base. Free HDMI cable. Decent looking TV...when it's off. :) 200 x 200 vesa mounting holes
  • Cons: The picture looks like the movie "A Scanner Darkly" I calibrated the TV with DVE, through the HDMI and coax inputs, with the same result I have yet to try the component or PC inputs, but I expect the same results. I am not as sensitive as my son is to ghosting, but this TV has very noticeable ghosting/trails. The HI-Def channels on our Comcast cable, "almost" have a decent picture. The sound is pretty bad out of the box, got it almost listenable with adjustments.
