One of the worst purchases I've ever made.

  • Summary: From the start I've been having issues with some of the "smart" functions of the TV, third-party apps not working etc. However, that I could overcome. The main issues started about six months ago (when I've had the TV for about 1.5 years). Certain bright dots started appearing at the top of the screen. In addition, the TV started freezing from time to time. Although this was rare at first, the frequency intensified with time and now it happens on a daily basis.

Failed after 5 months

  • Summary: After 5 months this tvs board started to fail. $2000 paperweight, the repairs exceed the value. Samsung told me they do not support thier remanufatured devices, under any circumstance. Be careful when you buy expensive electronics from the "discount bin"... Samsungs processes for evaluating if the product is fixed are obviously poor. Buy from someone else.

  • Summary: The TV worked for 4 months. The screen started to break up and volume went out intermittently in early August. I thought it was a cable issue or possibly the receiver. I gave it a couple weeks and even bought a new receiver. The TV then started turning on and off randomly and all you would see on the screen were green blocks of color against the black background. Eventually it would turn on and off with just a black screen.

  • Summary: This TV absolutely breaks my heart. Everything I own is Samsung (phone, fridge, other TV) and they are all tip top quality so I expected nothing but the best when I ordered this TV. To be fair the picture on the TV, the 3D, the picture motion are in fact some the best quality I have ever seen. The problem with this TV comes when the lights go out. The flashlighting and clouding from the backlight are so severe that it makes it nearly unusable at night.

Faulty display BEWARE!!!

  • Summary: The TV was good for 5 months and for the past 2 months I have been having trouble with the display.. It goes blank and shows multi-colored stripes then switches off itself then the issue appears again then switches off itself.. This issue comes and goes often.. Way too often now.. It's still under warranty so I ll take it to Samsung and get it fixed or replaced...

ES8000 Has a Major Defect

  • Summary: For those of you who are familiar with AVS Forums, this particular set has been plagued with issues. First and foremost (and the only real issue I will go into in this review) is that the TV is defective. Samsung knows this. Several ES8000 sets constantly restart/reboot themselves. The last time I counted, my set restarted 17 times in 3 minutes. This is simply unacceptable in a high end set like the ES8000 series.

AWFUL....!

  • Summary: The TV died after 6 days......vertical lines, freezes, on and off issues. I've had Samsung products before with nominal results...not this time. After reading other reviews I came to realize I made a mistake buying this unit. I was lucky, I could return it for full refund, the 14 day grace period had not expired.
