Summary: I was in the market for a non-smart TV...a dumb TV if you will. I already have Apple TV so I didn't want to pay extra for a smart TV that would be out dated in a few years. I would rather buy a new Apple TV (or Roku) box than a new TV. Anyway, the picture quality is OK on this unit out of the box...but it is great once you apply some calibration settings that have been posted on the web for this TV. You are paying nothing for extras on this TV.
Five stars for the price - Perfect "dumb" TV for your smart setup!

Summary: A lot of other reviews go into deep detail, so I'll keep this short. I bought this TV because it was simple: no "smart" features that age poorly and are forced upon you a few years from now. The other big part was that the TV is properly back-lit; it's not edge-lit like the super thin TVs of today. Keep in mind that this model uses slightly older technology, but this is a perfect example of the old saying, "they don't make 'em like they used to.
Summary: I just got this set and realized that there are no audio outputs. ....you are basically stuck with the built-in speakers...However after searching the net I discovered that an AV receiver (home theater), should be the center of the whole system. The genie or vid box gets connected to the receiver as well as speakers etc, then the video signal is sent to the tv for broadcast via HDMI. The tv and other components are merely peripherals of the AV box.
