Summary: I bought this television 2 years ago, so I have a lot of experience with it. I'm sure supplies are drying up and few people will see this review. Pros: great picture, adequate sound, nice looking set. The picture pulls this up to three stars, everything else pulls it down. Cons: 1) Samsung support: On 2 out of 3 calls I was given wrong information. I asked them to tell me which Samsung camera was compatible with their Skype Smart TV application.
Summary: Length:: 0:13 Mins At exactly 3 days after my 1-year warranty expires, my screen begins to flicker from time to time. The LED back-lighting turns off and back in different sections at different times. What this does is cause horizontal sections of the screen to seem a little darker than other sections, all the way to totally black as though the tv is off - but only sections at a time. Finally, after a few minutes of flicker, all the backlights turn off.
Summary: *****W A R N I N G***** Do not buy SAMSUNG Televisions!!! After the one year warranty period SAMSUNG Television screens tend to show burn-in and ghosting with horizontal lines, along with very heavy distortion of picture on right side of screen. This problem is systemic in all their LCD's and LED's. Consumer's have complained all over the internet.
Summary: i've had tv for awhile and i love it. great picture and great looking. i knew this was the tv i wanted and have not been disappointed. i wall mounted it but with the cable box the wires hang down, very ugly. bought a cheap tv console and hid the wires in the wall. kinda a pia. i don't know if i would wall mount it again.
Not sure if it was the used model or the TV itself

Summary: I spent a lot of time researching LED TVs and thought I had found the right one with this Samsung. I've owned samsungs before and had no problems with them. Once i got this out of the box, there was HUGE glares from the lights in the room. Too the point where it disturbed the picture. My old samsung didn't have that problem, but can't really have a TV that I can only watch in pitch black. The TV itself looks really nice, but the glare was too much .
Summary: I ordered this tv to replace a Samsung plasma 42" that I have had for about 6 years for no other reason than to get a bigger screen. The plasma has such a great picture and has been problem free, so why not go with one of Samsung's newer LED tv's, right?! Out of the box this is a beautiful tv. Nice design, super lightweight, and ultra-thin. Has tons of internet functions and has a very crisp and clean picture.
Summary: Got this TV two weeks back after watching the price for well over 3 months. Was easy to set up to what I needed it for and the picture is Ridiculous. Watched the Masters last week and was blown away how crystal clear everything was.So far very good with no complaints. Price point was over $2200.00 But was lucky enough to jump in at 1700.00.
Summary: I replaced a three year old Samsung LN46A750 which has a terrific picture with a Samsung UN55D7900. I chose the UN55D7900 over the UN55D8000 because it has a slightly thicker frame, which appears to eliminate some of the reported backlighting issues because of the thinner frame. After setting up the new UN55D7900 I was very disappointed with the initial picture quality ... too blurry in spots and overly sharp/grainy in others.
Summary: I bought this tv at a great price and it came with 6 pairs of 3d glasses and a samsung 3d wifi bluray player about 2 weeks ago. I was actually looking for a 42-46 inch tv for my bedroom, but the price on this set and for what I got it for at an open box deal was such a great deal to miss on, especially I been drouling over the same series for awhile now.lol So i put my 50 inch plasma in my bedroom now and the new Samsung 55 inch in my living room.
