Summary: I purchased 2 of these flagship TVs. They both are faulty (all of these models are). One has the relay clicking noise. I contacted Samsung online, nothing. I contacted Samsung by phone, nothing. I submitted a Better Business Bureau complaint, and nothing.
Summary: Despite a class action lawsuit against Samsung for faulty capacitors, the problem has not been solved despite changes to hardware and likely software. This TV model is not covered but is USELESS as it continues to randomly shutdown.
Summary: The tv was not like new it had scratches on the front top face plate and the screen panel was scratch too about the same place! The tv stand was missing the five screws to put the stand on the tv so I had to buy those from samsungparts.com the tv leans to the front like it's going to break off the...
Summary: Paid $3100 for the UN55B8500 in March, 2010. I've been very happy with the picture quality and indeed the whole TV until about a month ago when the TV started turning off on its own. At first rarely. Now, at least once a day.
Summary: First, what's been said in the 5 star reviews is true: the picture is stunning. It's simply one of the best local-dimming sets. But this panel does indeed have problems. When I researched this panel, I knew about the capacitor problem.
Summary: This TV has the best picture of any 2D LED I've seen, but it has the defect of being designed with underrated capacitors, which will cause the TV to fail after a couple of years. If you own one, get rid of it now, or be prepared for the TV to suddenly shut off or not powering up with a "Clicking"...
Summary: I will NEVER buy another Samsung product EVER! Bought a Samsung fridge...had to be replaced in 2 mos...the refer and freezer compartments BOTH went out and the repairman got so aggravated w/the thing, he cut the freon line and called it in as needing replacement.
