the samsung led tv in my opinion has the best pictureon the mark
23 September 2012
Excerpt: I have been comparing tvs for purchase. I want the best that there is in terms of picture quality. The Samsung 55" led tv has the best specs of all lcd tvs. So it is technically the best picture you can get. There are basically three spects to look for in a tv. One is if it is full hdtv. in other words 1080. you want to avoid a tv rated at 720 The samsung led is full hdtv. Two is the contrast ratio this technicaly means the difference between white and black.
Excerpt: Samsung TV left permanant black marks from the rubber feet on the bottom in my furniture. When I called Samsung, I was told that Samsung did not suggest that I put their product on a wood surface. If you purchase a Samsung TV I recommend you protect your furniture.
Awesome TV - Get it without the DLNA / Internet if possible

Summary: The good: 1. Amazing picture quality 2. Bright color great contrast...can't even tell it's on 3. Excellent remote 4. Lots of I/O ports to connect stuff 5. Very thin...looks like a picture frame on the wall (mounted it myself with Samsung slim mount) The not so good: 1. The included DLNA software is pretty basic and not worth it. Recommend using PlayOn or something compatible though I'm not sure what all is compatible. I use it with PlayOn 2.
Summary: I bought this samsung UN55B8000 LED HDTV about a year ago I love everything about this tv. The picture is (3D like) I feel samsung is the best tv out there!!! The price was the best around. Everyone else loves my tv too!
Summary: I purchased this TV, partly against my better judgment, in the middle of February, 2010. I read many reviews by other consumers complaining of a "spotlighting" effect produced by the LED edge-lighting that replaces the fluorescent-style backlighting of older model LCDs. Upon receiving my TV, I was disappointed to see that the concerns others voiced were not exaggerated.
Excerpt: Imagine my surprise when the local electronics store came knocking on my door with a Samsung UN55B8000 55 in. HDTV TV. This was more for my husband than it was for me. I can think of a hundred ways to spend $2,500, but he assured me this was an investment (yeah, until the next greatest thing comes out). I do enjoy the * Samsung UN55B8000 55 in. HDTV TV. * It gives a great picture, especially when the local channels are in HD.
Summary: I have had this set since October 2009 and I have not been disappointed in any way. In September I had concerns about some of the reviews complaining about the "white" edges/corners on dark scenes. Well these are rare and very faint. But once you perform a firmware update they no longer show up.
