REVIEW: Samsung UE46ES6800 3D TV
10 December 2012
Excerpt: Samsung's ES6800 series screen rolls back the kookier features found in the top-end ES8000 range, instead focussing on delivering solid image quality. Its stripped back feature list matches its mid-range price tag, but does it rob the ES6800 of all that made the ES8000 so appealing? Read on to find out!
Conclusion: And yet, despite all those good points – and this really is a fantastic telly – the Samsung finds itself a star short of top marks when up against the like of Sony's KDL-46HX753 and KDL-46HX853 .
Conclusion: There's much to like about the Samsung UE40ES6800. Its design is cute, if hardly groundbreaking, its feature list is long for a mid-range TV, and its online services are second to none. It's also capable of producing some very fine pictures, especially in 3D mode. However, it's quite a step down in picture performance terms from Samsung's flagship sets, and it isn't immune to the appearance of some stiff recent competition.
Pros: Content-rich Smart TV, Good operating system, Generally good pictures, 3D glasses included
Excerpt: Samsung, like many TV manufacturers, has a bewildering range of models. Even if you've already decided to discount a plasma set, there are still scores of LED TVs to choose between. See all TV reviews .
