GREAT PICTURE BUT TV HAS PROBLEMS
2 May 2013
Summary: I found this tv easy to connect into my system to replace a 7 year old Sony LCD HD 55 incher. Fabulous picture on this tv but one annoying problem that is cause for it to be returned. When changing from and HD cable channel to a non-HD channel, the screen goes black. If I cycle through the Smart Tv screen and then back to the cable input, the picture comes back. Same thing happend going the other way. Not acceptable.
Summary: I'm not impressed with this Samsung LED. My wife even asked me if there was something "wrong" with the TV! I've tried numerous picture calibrations but it still looks only okay. It's better than my 7 year old 720p LCD Samsung... but only when I have it on the channels that broadcast in true 1080 resolution. On the other channels (which are most of them) it looks the same, if not worse, than my old TV. I won this TV at auction, brand new, for $500.
Summary: I bought this TV with great expectations...well, proved wrong..its just ok. pros: good picture quality, thin built, netflix app is great. cons: severe back light bleed, smart tv functions are clumsy and slow, its much better connecting to pc by HDMI Planning to return/at least exchange with a hope for no back light bleed.
Summary: This is a "Smart TV" but it makes me feel pretty dumb. Each time I want to access Netflix or Pandora, I have to re-establish an account with each of them and with NetFlix that takes around 10 minutes. I find that unacceptable. The account data, once entered should remain and be immediately accessible.
Summary: 4-stars for picture, ease of use, etc. Sound quality isn't awesome and remote control design is lacking (and they should provide a keyboard), but overall solid. Another negative is way input\outputs are laid out. Once mounted to my wall I am not able to access most of them. 2-stars for the "Smart Hub" and internet browsing. That's the area that I want to discuss. I have "antenna tv" and was hoping the internet browsing and apps would help me watch some of things.
Overall Very Happy with Picture, Sound but not Smart Hub - TV Returned
20 July 2012
Summary: EDIT: You can read my initial impressions review below, but in the end, the SmartHub was such a disappointment (buggy, crashy, web browser was simply awful) I returned the TV. Instead I got an EH6000 and a panasonic blu-ray with wifi (included Amazon VOD, but no browser). For browser streaming, I'll just hook up my laptop via HDMI. All of this saves me hundreds of dollars and gets me more happy than just the TV. I think smart TVs just aren't there yet.
Summary: I thought this was a great TV and agree with other positive reviews regarding its picture quality, brightness, ease of WiFi setup, slim design, and smart TV features, all for a reasonable price. However, as other reviewers have also mentioned, it has important wall mount limitations.
Summary: I've had the set since Memorial Day and decided to add my comments that I didn't see elsewhere in these reviews. I agree 100% with the other reviewers here on the picture quality of this set. Best I've seen period! My disappointments are mostly with the Smart TV features and the remote control provided to use them. Here are my gripes in most-to-least order: 1. The browser for this set completely sucks!
Summary: Picked this TV up a week ago from a local retailer because no one had parts in stock for my old Sony. I went to the store and watched TV's for a while and decided that his TV had the best picture out of the ones in my price range. After getting it home and unpacking it, the set up was simple as any TV should be. The WiFi set up after 30 seconds or so and the update was fast. I found that the best quality of picture and sound was the "Movie" setting.
