Sometimes screen dims, can't seem to turn this feature off
13 November 2013
Summary: I'm not totally satisfied with this TV because I can't seem to get it to be consistently as bright as I want without jacking up the contrast/brightness and losing picture quality. On standard mode, sometimes the backlight dims, and I haven't been able to figure out how to turn this function off. I have the backlight turned up all the way, and all of the power saving options turned off, but occasionally the screen will still dim somewhat.
Summary: I bought the Samsung unit to upgrade from a 20+ year old Zenith. The picture on my Zenith is just as good as the new unit - much smaller though. I have noticed that small print is distorted. Overall I would rate it as a big OK.
Summary: I like the physical presentation when the TV is off. When it is on, there are series of small red pixels in the center of the screen which are visible when the neutral/black screen is on......not really noticeable when viewing TV programs. So, I judged it was not worth the effort to ship it back. However, the price led me to believe that I would get a perfect TV!
Summary: Overall the TV is great out of the box...good picture, good sound, easy setup, awesome delivery / packaging by Amazon. The biggest disappointment is the info display. That being...every time you change the HD channel, and it has a different size or whatever, this HUGE and ANNOYING pop-up display comes up in the LHand corner. It says something like "HDMI-1, 1920x1080/60p and the current time". It stays on for about 3-4 seconds.
Pros: This TV Looks and performs nicely. At the time I bought it, it was a great 1080p display for its size and price.
Cons: If you care about image quality, don't plan on ever watching interlaced video on this unit. The built-in de-interlacer is horrible, makes the picture muddy and grainy, and screws up the contrast big time. I had to reconfigure my satellite receiver to output 720p since 1080i looked horrible.
Summary: This is just an average tv. I only purchase Samsung products when it comes to these type of electronics. Only had an issue while mounting TV to articulating wall mount due to where the cable in is located was a bit difficult other than that it's just a TV thought I would be more thrilled with it but I wasn't.
Pros: Set up was very easy
Cons: for the price I paid was a little disappointed
Summary: I bought this tv because I was impressed by what I saw at the nearby electronics/appliance store. The price advertised for this product was 35% lower than the local store. The product was delivered very quickly (sooner than projected). However, the tv model was not exactly as advertised. This version has some features disabled which may explain the lower price. However, given the lower price, I can live without the missing features. Sound and picture is great.
Summary: I fell for this television. It is not really an LED tv. It's an LCD tv with an LED backlight function. It also doesn't refresh at 120 Hz like it says. It is a 60Hz Tv. Watch out. If you want an LED tv with 120 Hz refresh rate, don't get this. You will be disappointed. However, the price has dropped so it may be worth it now.
Summary: Great TV but broke after 7 months. ABT was great, it was a Samsung issue. Tammy an "executive" at Samsung was very rude when we called to complain. Again, ABT was awesome, just Samsung that stunk!
