Summary: It's a great TV, when it works. I had the screen go out a few months after purchasing this TV. Thankfully at that time it was under warranty and so I was able to have the screen replaced. Fast forward 3.5 years later, the screen has gone again, but now no warranty.

Summary: I bought this TV in Feb 2012 and I loved it! The only thing I didn't like about it was the Samsung Apps - they are dog slow, so I never used them. If you are on the fence with a "Smart TV", I would skip it. Get Roku to help you w/apps. Today, I just noticed a horizontal line going thru the screen.
Summary: I was very pleased with this TV until it stopped working! I purchased this TV Dec 22, 2011. I initially had an issue where the whole screen would flicker in a high contrast environment. For example, when you had a scene where bright greens, blue skies, etc.

Summary: DO NOT BUY! Although the TV may seem appealing for the price, not a reliable product. Have had this for less than 2 years and the panel gave up. I now have to stare at a 10 inch bright band across the TV and Samsung is basically saying "not our problem".
Summary: In terms of "bang for the buck" it doesn't get much better. This TV has every feature I was looking for. Most people notice its fantastic picture quality almost immediately. Once tuned using something like a THX certified test pattern (Commonly found on blu ray discs made by Pixar) this TV's picture...
TV failed, Cost to repair in second year. Disappointing for "perceived" Tier 1 Vendor.

Summary: Purchased the TV in late November 2011 based on my perception of Samsung as a quality vendor. TV is used in a light to medium duty cycle in my home office. Warranty runs out after 12 months. Turned on the TV this weekend to view college football, heard "pop".
Summary: UN55D6500 is a great entry level TV. Great picture, but it looks like a soap opera on some programs. Lots of inputs, and as usual with Samsung, the TV itself is attractive and very thin. Remote is easy to use.I'm happy with it and I would definitely buy it again.
