Summary: We've had this for about a year and it's been great. It works like a charm. Great picture, ridiculously thin, and we love the integration of Pandora/Hulu/Netflix/HBOGo etc. through the SmartTV feature. We also got a wonderful deal through Amazon. Our biggest complaint is just that the SmartTV navigation can seem a bit sluggish at times and it takes ~ 30 seconds to 1 minute to go from turning on the TV to watching something on Hulu or Netflix.
Summary: This Samsung UN60D6000 60 inch tv was purchased recently, and has a manufacture date of November 2011. Yet it now wont turn on and has a clicking sound. Has anyone experienced this problem? I live overseas, so the cost to ship back to the USA is really high even though its still under warranty. Did anyone have the problem and had it resolved from a technician of the country which you reside (not USA)? Please share what the technician may have shared as the problem.
Summary: We bought it on November 25th, 2011 from BestBuy. The good thing was that we also bought an extended BestBuy warranty. After about 8 months we noticed a vertical green line on the right side of the screen. We called BestBuy and a technician came to take a look. His recommendation was to replace the panel. So they did. The new panel lasted exactly 36 hours, and a new green line appeared. The panel was replaced for the second time.
Summary: Samsung UN60D6000 60-Inch 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV (Black) [2011 MODEL] My happiness with this product only 8 months because suddenly the screen went blank and serves no more. Apparently the screen died for faulty. In reviewing the possibility of returning it expired I find the time to do. The truth is that never again would buy a TV so expensive this way. Really worth going to a store that offers security with a problem like this.
Summary: I've had this for just over a year now and it's wonderful. HD is great, it's stable and I use the dongle for wireless and it works fine. Some settings such as "Grey bar" format are annoying and I still can't figure out how to get it off of ther. But other than that blu-ray does justice ont his tv and HD, reliability, longevity and size. This TV seems to have them all so far.
Summary: TV is great, but Samsung apps are terrible and there are no updates available. I would love to have Amazon Video on Demand, and thought buying the best brand out there would allow me to update and technology became more widely available. Shame on Samsung for not supporting "older" models (and by older, I mean 2011)!
LED panel cracked on its own in less than 6 months
Howard Ji, Amazon
18 June 2012
Summary: I bought this TV from Costco less than 6 Months ago. About a week ago, the LED panel cracked internally on its own while not in use and I was at work. Samsung sent a tech to my house and said it's a physical damage and won't be covered by warranty. The tech said something must had hit the screen even though there's no sign of damage on the protective glass. The truth is: we didn't do a thing to the TV and we didn't see a thing happened to TV.
Summary: This would be a great product if it was not of the light bleeding issue. I was aware of this issue when I bought the TV, but it is very apparent when watching dark scenes and the bright spots are not just limited to the edges, they cover a great deal of the screen. Would not recommend buying this product. Keep away from it and look for another product with limited or non-existent backlight bleed issues, otherwise you may regret it. Go with LG or Sharp.
