Summary: I bought the UN40F6400 Smart TV from Amazon on 8/21/13. I would really like to love this TV, but I suspect the designers cut corners on the components used to build this TV resulting in very poor reliability. I base this opinion on 40 years in the aerospace industry as a reliability engineer with 3 degrees in electronic engineering design. I had this TV for only six weeks when it started cycling on and off repeatedly.
Summary: We didn't like the TV much from the start but we kept it to avoid the return hassle. Slow, often it would freeze, or would show random errors and we would have to go back and start again to reboot the applications. We have had the TV for less than a year and now it will turn off and on randomly, and will alway stop (sometimes) after unplug in for several minutes. We contacted Samsung customer service and they said it has a 12 months guarantee.
Summary: After 4 months, TV went into a rolling reboot mode. Called Samsung. They said they will send someone to replace the motherboard. It took 6-7 weeks for them to send a technician. Didn't expect this quality and service from Samsung.
Summary: I read the reviews about problems with this model and not having great picture quality. Still I had good experience with my prior Samsung TV so I purchased the TV. It was listed as an open box never plugged in. It looked brand new and worked out of the box. Not the best picture but acceptable for the bedroom late night TV watching. About 1 hour into a movie the TV turned itself off, then back on and the off etc.
Summary: I bought this TV on October23,2013. It died last month. Samsung said they would fix it, the fix it guy cannot come to my home, I live within two hours away from the nearest town. It has now been over 2 1/2 weeks with no TV, no replacement check and the TV just sits here. They cannot replace this TV with another one, so they stall you. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG TV. i I also purchased the wireless keyboard with the TV, they will not give me the money back for that.
Summary: Picture is out of synch with sound, on all sources. This may not be noticeable to some people, but Samsung have told me that this is a known issue with this model of TV. Note that there is no setting for adjusting the sound delay (only for external sound output). The shop replaced the TV and the new one had the same problem, and the shop offered to replace it again. A manual firmware update made no difference.
