Samsung UN40F6400AF Review – 40-inch LED Smart HDTV
21 May 2014
Excerpt: If you want a feature-heavy yet budget-friendly Smart TV for a small or medium room, you must give the first priority to the 40-inch UN40F6400AF. You will get nearly everything on this Smart TV panel. First, the picture quality is truly top-notch.
Conclusion: The Samsung F6400 series of edge-lit HDTVs deliver a sharp picture with dark blacks and vibrant colors. Features are abundant, but the screen doesn't get very bright and the Smart Touch remote can be tricky to master.
Pros: Dark black levels. Strong feature set. Solid 2D and 3D image quality.
Cons: Tricky remote. Voice recognition is erratic. Low brightness levels.
Excerpt: Samsung's mid-range LCD TV for 2013 comes in three versions, the F6800, the F6500 and the F6400, which we’ve reviewed here. Excepting appearances they are largely identical, though the upper two models come with Freesat HD tuners as well as Freeview HD ones.
Conclusion: The Samsung UE40F6400 is a highly capable LED LCD television whose only major letdown is its handling of 3D Blu-ray movies: the undefeatable motion interpolation imparts soap opera effect onto what should appear filmic, which will bother you if you’re a video purist like us.
