Samsung 40-inch UN40F5500 Full HD 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV with Smart TV (Refurbished)
9 April 2014
Summary: Still figuring out the nuances of this product, but so far I really enjoy the bells and whistles. I'm streaming content wirelessly from my laptop which I really like and I've given up on XXXXXXXX XXXXXX.
Summary: Overall, I am disappointed in the picture quality but very pleased with the "smart" features. I would have said 3 and 1/2 stars if I knew how. I am disappointed with the picture quality but very pleased with the "smart" features. I have adjusted the picture as suggested by several online reviewers who use tools and science to optimize the variables. I have tried 4 or 5 recommended settings, and done some tinkering of my own.
Summary: Really love the Smart features and the easy access to Netflix. The only thing is the sound is sometimes difficult to hear and it doesn't change channels very quickly but I am very happy with my purchase.
Summary: Literally the only feature that I wish it had, as well as one I should have known to look for, is HDMI-ARC. It is one of those things that all Smart TVs should have so that you can pump the audio from the "Smart" features back to your surround sound (or sound bar which would be a probable match up for the size/price of this TV).
Summary: I love everything about this TV except...I thought that I had read carefully enough to understand how the apps and the Internet worked but there are some subtleties that are keeping me from giving this product 5 stars. While it is possible to use the web browser to "browse" the Internet, this does not include streaming videos from Internet sites such as hulu.com or cbs.com.
Summary: Solid TV, I like that it has the internet connectivity. Some models dont give you the ability to play files off a thumb drive, this TV does. It can also be hooked up wirelessly to the internet to use apps for youtube etc. The app library is also pretty big. The picture is very nice for the price, it is super slim, and very light. Pretty solid TV. This TV is used in a 3 season room and has performed well in changing weather.
Summary: I received this TV about 2 weeks ago. I had a lot of trouble getting it set up to receive a signal from Dish Network. It is being used as the secondary TV off a Dishnetwork DVR receiver with a coax cable hook up. Called Samsung several times over the past two weeks to no avail. Finally, tonight, Samsung told me to call Dishnetwork and have them reset the system which I did. Now it works fine!
TV good!! seller: The High Definition Store BAD !!
7 October 2013
Summary: Got this tv couple of weeks back. seems good to me. just one shortcoming (which i already knew from earlier reviews .. but didnt know its so bad.). USB keyboard does not work in several apps. and its very difficult to type using the TV-remote keys. one more thing. DO NOT BUY from "The High Definition Store". They advertised a free HDMI cable with the TV . There were 4 other sellers offering the same price and i went for The High Definition Store due to the cable.
Summary: The TV has a great picture. Styling is nice and slim. Sound is not great. I think it could benefit from better front facing speakers. I think if it was wall mounted sound would be a problem. As well on a personal note I hate the sound affects produced with remote control usage. Not a flaw but I find it annoying. So it is a good deal and I am not unhappy but no competition for my Sony. However my Sony cost more than twice as much as this Samsung.
Summary: This TV is a great buy. If you're looking to getting around purchasing an extra unit such as a blue ray or Xbox, this is perfect. Set up was really easy. Although Netflix has a hard time connecting right away sometimes but that could be anything. It's a great size especially for an apartment setting. If you love sound, I suggest adding a system.
