  • Summary: Everything that I'd hoped for in this television but with one surprise. Any (or so it seems) attempt to access an app or media needs to logon to Samsung. Why does the manufacturer want to know I am streaming a film from my laptop to my television if I try to do so solely using Samsung applications?
  • Pros: Quality picture and plenty of connections.
  • Cons: SmartHub

  • Summary: Unlike another reviewer, I literally plugged in the internet connection and it was ready to go! Fortunately, I knew that some of the video on demand services were not available as yet. Still, it would've been nice to have 4oD etc. rather than just iPlayer. I have to say the Smart TV functions are still very clunky, although much better than the LG counterpart. Picture quality is amazingly sharp, especially when viewing HD channels.
  • Pros: Sharp Picture, top EPG
  • Cons: Slight Ghosting

  • Summary: Lovely telly. But despite hours of messing around with formatting my HDD, which it claims to be able to read, it still won't show the titles, artists and albums on my MP3s. I've upgraded the firmware and tried everything.
  • Pros: Great picture, loads of features
  • Cons: Won't read ID3 tags on HDD external drive music

  • Summary: I liked this tv in the shop and was told in was internet ready which it is not. I was also told it supports itv player, 4od and bbc iplayer. The only one it supports is bbc iplayer. I contacted Samsung months ago for any info on if the tv will have the 4od and itv player apps in the future and had no reply. If you were looking at getting this tv then i recomend that you do not.
  • Pros: slim design and allshare compatible
  • Cons: smart tv is rubbish

  • Summary: Really good picture, but for a 'Smart TV' the software is really poor - Samsung fill half the screen with apps you don't want and will not let you delete them -very poor user control.
  • Pros: Picture quality
  • Cons: Software

Quality HDTV at a very good price

el_bazza, Amazon
18 April 2012
  • Summary: The picture quality is excellent, especially the HD channels, although even with my poor antenna and signal, the SD channels look very good also. The sound is OK, but with such a thin TV it's nigh on impossible to get a quality sound. One of the main reasons I bought this TV is for the net connectivity it offers, as I have a home NAS and wanted to stream video from it to the TV.

Fine unless you want Freeview HD

Bertrambear, Amazon
30 March 2012
  • Summary: I bought this telly last year partly because it claimed to receive Freeview HD. I don't subscribe to cable or satellite, so this seemed an economical way of getting high definition. I waited patiently till 21st March when my local transmitter started HD transmissions, and am bitterly disappointed. All HD channels are frequently interrupted by a brief blank screen when it goes black momentarily. This is sufficiently irritating to make these channels unwatchable.
