Summary: Let me start by saying that I returned this TV to Crutchfield after watching it for a week. The TV has a myriad of settings that you can use to adjust the vide display; but I could never get it calibrated to my liking. The impressive part of this experience was the Crutchfield customer service. After placing my order, the TV arrived within days.
Pros: Crutchfield's excellent customer service
Cons: Complicated video calibration. Price is too close to the new 4K TV's on the market
Summary: We bought this TV vs. lower end Samsungs in the same size because of the higher refresh rate, better backlighting, etc. That of course meant we got a boatload of "Smart" features. Well we love the picture quality but the additional features are less than wowing us.
Pros: Picture quality is superb (when we have all the automatic adjustments turned off). Very thin & light and looks great on the wall. Even on the stand it looked but with a couple of small grandkids around, I liked it better mounted. Nice bluetooth remote plus they will send you a conventional (IR) remote if you ask. I really like the advanced HDMI features like being able to control other components and backfeeding audio to my receiver.
Cons: Issues Smart features. 1) "Jutter" problems, particularly Sitcoms vs. Sports & other live action. Saw online recommendations to turn OFF everything that was automatically trying to reduce jutter and that seemed to cure it. 2) Skype has all kinds of issues trying to maintain a quality connection - both through wifi and hard-wired connection. I have a very good broadband and Skype works perfectly on my computer. 3) Web Surfing is slow; typing on remote is painful - boug...
Summary: The picture on this TV is awesome! HD programming looks like it's almost in 3D, and the 3D content is pretty impressive with the provided 3D glasses (4 pair). The setup was a piece of cake. The one complaint that I have (and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) is that the "Smart TV" is too smart! When I first got it, it was taking control of other devices like my receiver and switching the input (to the wrong one, which resulted in black screen).
Summary: I had seen the smaller version of they television in a retail store and was blown away by the picture. We figured that the retail store had tweaked the set to get optimum results and with the lighting in the store this TV would perform much better in the store than home. We purchased from Amazon and (here's the bad part) we were promised one delivery date and the date was changed by the freight company. A bit disappointing.
Summary: The television is a great product- highly recommended. Great people to deal on line store, however the delivery experience has been horrible. The TV was flown into a delivery center half an hour from my house, it was loaded onto a truck that drove a delivery to the next state, and on the way back over 9 hrs later the TV was delivered to me. When i called in they would not even give a morning/afternoon timeframe.
Excerpt: Random Thoughts: Large screen, thin bezel, excellent picture, TERRIBLY REFLECTIVE OF ANY LIGHT SOURCE IN FRONT OF IT. It not only refelects lights, but the reflections have a prism effect on the screen which separates the colors from white to red/green/blue - kinda weird. It loses connection to the internet when the signal is 3 bars or less at times, which sucks when you are trying to use the remote alphanumeric entry to log into the apps and webb browser.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, Realistic color
Cons: highly reflective with a prism effect from light
Summary: Bought this tv as a early Xmas present . Did allot of research on tv's and this one was highly rated. Picture quality is excellent and tons of options . I also bought a sony 1040 receiver to go with my boss speakers, really complements the tv. The most important thing when buying all this high tech equipment is to have good tech support. Well we have called Crutchfield numerous times and they are always eager to help.
