Defective Stand! (Great TV Otherwise)
14 April 2014
Summary: Got the TV a while ago, was not able to set it up until recently but once I was able to take it out of the box, I realized that either the nails that came with the stand were defective, or the stand itself was defective. I cannot secure the TV onto the stand so we have to be very careful not to touch the TV because it is quite shaky! Other than this bad fault with the product, the TV is great, responsive and great quality for the cost.
Excellent picture AND sound, software needs some improvement

Summary: NOTE: Scroll to bottom of review to read 2014 updates -- I am returning this TV. This TV was released in February as Samsung's "budget" 32-inch As of this writing it's going for around $475, so about $200 more than the budget Smart TV's from Vizio. First my review of the TV, then I'll compare it to Vizio's product , which I have also purchased and decided to return in favor of this unit. As you would expect, the TV has a great picture.
TV itself is fine - but beware of surround sound setup!

Summary: I have been a loyal fan of Samsung for quite some time now. I decided to purchase the Samsung UN46F5500 46-Inch Smart TV for my mom and was super excited at how quick it arrived. TV setup was fairly straight-forward, and the Smart TV apps were nicely organized and ready for use. I had also purchased a Samsung Blue Ray Home Theater system to connect with it. Long story short, I could NOT get the TV to produce surround sound through just the HDMI cable.
Best Picture I've Seen in This Class of TVs - I wish it worked longer than 8 months

Summary: Edit, June 15th, 2014: The below is still accurate, but I have had to come back to update my rating to a 2 star (and that's being generous). I have had this TV for 8 months and then it died on me. The little red light on the IR panel comes on, but the screen never turns on, and there is no sound. A quick Google search tells me this is a reoccurring problem with some series of Samsung TVs. I am greatly disappointed. I expected it to last longer than 8 months.
Summary: The previous reviewer got it all right. I got the 40 inch version for the bedroom and I totally agree with this review. I got it on the cheap so I am not returning it but I would not like to use this as a main TV . All said and done, the SMART features are awesome.
