Excerpt: This TV is in the bedroom and is used most nights from about 10: 30 pm until midnight. The chrome stand looked gaudy so I replaced it with a universal stand. The picture brightness and quality have been a disappointment. The smart features were intuitive and easy to navigate.
Pros: All the connections options I could ever need, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, LED-backlit
Summary: I ordered the first TV which arrived with a cracked frame and a shattered screen. Immediately initiated it's return and another one sent. All went smoothly and the Amazon service was great. The second TV arrived yesterday. No damage as far as the eye could see. Unfortunately after setting it up and plugging it in I had no picture and no sound. I have spent the entire morning online and on the phone with Samsung service.
Summary: Purchased this to replace an older "dumb" TV that had failed. I already have a good AV setup with a multimedia Yamaha receiver, speakers, and a diversity of sources (e.g., AppleTV) so didn't need the "smart" features, which are just another player on the field in the scrum fighting to serve me up content. But I figured I might as well get the 120 Hz so anted up to the higher price for this one. Mistake. The smart features turn out to be a pain.
Summary: I bought this TV to replace an old flat screen SONY (which we loved) but we wanted to add Netflix capability without swapping out our DVD. The Samsung has plenty of flexibility and the Smart TV function. However, TV would go dark trying to get Netflix up and running. Other apps worked perfectly. Spent many hours on the phone with Samsung support. They had no clue had to fix. Waiting for a software patch. In the meantime, I bought a Roku and it works perfectly.
Summary: I have owned this TV for about a month now. The TV is great! The Smart HUB is awful! The web browser is poor beyond description. Links within a site won't load, the entire Smart Hub decided to crash one day and then came back 2 days later! Netflix crashes and makes me sign on again with the remote which really sucks. I no longer use the Smart Hub for anything. I use my Roku player for Netflix. Save your money and buy a Samsung TV w/o the Smart Hub. Nice picture.
Summary: As others say: This TV gets Five stars ***** for Great picture quality and definately slim. But I could have saved $170.00 and purchased same TV with out "Smart TV/Aps" and just put my laptop into the TV with a HDMI. What I wish I had known: Hulu (free) can not be viewed because you can not download Adobe flashplayer.
Summary: The user interface on the TV was great and it was easy to setup. The available apps to download were also plentiful and contained some of the most popular (Pandora, Netflix, etc.). However, the set itself the LED lighting was not consistent and uniform across the screen. The edges were much brighter leading to colors being washed out on the sides.
