Summary: I have loved this TV every day since owning it, until today... As others have already said it has a power issue after 2 years. Today is around the 2 year and 6 month point for this TV and it is turning on for a bit and then going dark. Some times the LED light just blinks on the front without the TV turning on. I will try to have them repair it, however, it is out of warranty at this point.
WARNING! Do not purchase any television from Samsung without reading.

Summary: WARNING! Do not purchase any television from Samsung. I expected years of service from my $3000 PN64E8000GFXZA. In less than 2 years the power supply failed. (A simple Internet search or the other 1 star reviews here in Amazon will show you that the power supplies are poorly built in Samsung televisions) Samsung would not sell me the power supply which would have been very simple to install. Had to use their authorized service.

Pros: Good picture
Cons: power supply failure and Samsung doesn't care
Summary: I Have a Samsung Plasma 50A540 model number. This is likely the most babied TV of all time. Sat on a mount, clear of any objects, never dropped, etc. Not the slightest chance of physical damage. Last night - poof! There's a pop, the picture on the screen faded dramatically to deep reds and blacks, showed only on the left side of the screen (as facing from couch), with right side completely black. Looked kind of like a lava lamp....
12 months 3 weeks it went lights out. No red power LED in the lower left corner

Summary: Called Samsung. Said its 12 months 3 weeks old. They said out of warranty. They setup a local authorized repair company. The called 5 days later. They said it is one of two power supply related circuit boards it will cost around $360 to repair. They called back said they would be onsite to fix Saturday March 15, 2014. They called Friday and said Samsung did not deliver the parts and they are on back order. They said they expect them Tuesday March 18, 2014.
Summary: If you are thinking of getting a samsung plasma, DON'T!!!!!!!!!!!!. I bought a C7000 from bestbuy and guess what. BUZZING!!!!!! No problem, I returned it and got a new one. Guess what, BUZZING!!!!!!!!!! Enough with this B.S. I got a panny vt series and these tv's kick some serious a$$. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the samsung plasma tv's and get yourself a panny, vt series if possible.
Summary: It appears Samsung TVs have no quality control (other than the consumer being stuck with a defective product, so if you got a good one, you are very lucky, but I suspect you will have problems at some point). Right out of the factory sealed box, my brand new new PN64E8000 top of the line 64" Samsung Plasma is defective. It is extremely difficult to get an HDMI connection.
Pros: U-Tube is worth the slow painstaking process to get to.
Cons: Poor quality control, terrible customer service, if you get stuck with a bad one, like me, you are SOL. Problem appears to be with all high end Samsung TVs.
Summary: The good: excellent image quality, better than their LED TVs. The bad: After using it for 4 months the screen is already burned, in the areas where the TV displays the subtitles for All Share (DLNA, network, USB) content. While I understand burn-in or retention from watching CNN tickers, games, fixed logos, etc. this was caused by the TV's own firmware.
