Summary: This TV is fantastic! I upgraded from a Panasonic plasma and this blows it away. Pros: BIG SCREEN! Small frame. My wife is very particular about the aesthetics and you barley notice the frame or the stand. The ports are adequate unless you have everything plus your toaster hooked up to it. The price is unbeatable as most can pay cash for it rather than putting it on a card.

Summary: Bought model PN51D530A3FXZA from Best Buy back in Sept 2011. Yesterday on 12/27/11 while watching TV the screen suddenly just went off. Tried turning it on but no picture only audio. Looked closer and discovered under the front glass there were two internal spider cracks on the screen. There is no external damage. I've read up on this and seems like a common issue Samsung tries to side step responsibility time after time again.
Summary: Its been 2 months since I had this TV. So far so good. Great TV with excellent picture quality. I love the slim edge of this TV. I still need to calibrate it to make the picture quality better. Overall great! Pros: Great picture quality Samsung Great looking Cons: Only 2 HDMI ports (not an issue for me as I have a reciever) Sound quality is bit poor at high volume (not an issue for as I have a home theatre :))
Summary: We have the 59" version of the D530. I do not think the 59" version is subject to the same power source failures as the 51" version that seems to be bringing down the rating. This plasma has decent black levels and great color. Amazing plasma for the price. Very few inputs compared to other models, so make sure you can make do with just one component/composite and two HDMI before ordering.
Summary: Hi All, I noticed a lot of folks writing same -ve reviews about Samsung. "The TV suddenly turned off...". Now, I am a Samsung fan and have always had Samsung TV. I also agree that Samsung Support is not at all good. I love Samsung TV. So when I when I had the exact same problem with my plasma TV about a year ago, I was sad. Worst part? It broke right after 3 yr warranty expired :(. I called Samsung for customer service.
Summary: I have been looking for a big TV for awhile now, but not wanting to pay for the 60 and 70 inch models that are running $2,500 or more. I also didn't want to spend that much with 3D and other technologies possibly rendering my $2,500 obsolete in 3 years. But I HAD to update/upgrade the 37 inch Insignia I had in the family room. So I went with this Samsung and wow. You want to talk about picture, about as clear as I have seen with no fuzz or flutter.
Summary: WOW! What an incredible TV. I was looking for a plasma that didn't have all the features that always cause them to break down before their time. This is that TV. And the price was perfect as well. It is loaded with all the necessary features to have an excellent viewing experience. I didn't care about the speakers because I have a kick butt 7.1 surround system.
Summary: I ordered this 59" plasma just in time for Thanksgiving football! The TV turns on and that's it. There is absolutely no pic! You can't even see the menu. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and no pic. I tried Samsung chat and they conclude the TV needs to be serviced. I'm not servicing a new TV! RUKM. Take it back!
Why does Amazon offer $80 off 3D glasses promotion on NON-3D tv????
C. Sallas, Amazon
17 November 2011
Summary: I contacted customer service (Amazon) to notify them of the mistake...that the $80 off 2 sets of 3D glasses is not valid on this, PN59D530, model due to it NOT having 3D functionality about Nov 14, but this has not been corrected. I mentioned that this promotion was probably meant to be applied to the PN5D550 as the 51 and 64 inch versions of the D550 series are in the promotion...but again, no correction thus far. Promotion expires Dec 3.
