Samsung PS51D6900 A Great 3D Entertainment Treat
28 July 2012
Excerpt: I bought Samsung’s PS51D6900 TV when my Grandma died and left me some money. We wanted a 51in plasma TV that fitted on the wall. It's an excellent television that has Active 3D built in. You only get one pair of 3D glasses included, but it is very good. There is Full HD resolution. It retails for around £913, at least that's what we paid for it. The screen is massive and displays images really clearly.
Pros: Very good features, excellent quality and value for money .
Summary: I've had this for about 6 months now. Generally the picture is excellent from all sources but apparently it does depend in the firmware version you are running. I'm happy with 1015 mostly on the Movie picture setting and have stopped it updating further automatically. Can't comment on the sound as I haven't been able to hear it. I've got it plugged into an Onkyo receiver by optical and the TV is convinced its got headphones connected!
Summary: I didn't buy this television, so this is really just an observation having researched the product via the web. The AV Forums is full of knowledgeable customers, many of whom complain that the system does not have iplayer from BBC or the Websurfer. Although Samsung apparently claim these are coming they are NOT available at the moment on this set. In addition many of the customers have not received any 3d glasses.
