Great display, and the sound quality is surprising for ...

  • Summary: Great display, and the sound quality is surprising for a budget tv. The preset screen settings are good enough for me. This is a great choice for the money. That being said, glare is definitely an issue with this one. If you have a window nearby with full daylight (and you are sitting at just the right angle), it will be hard to see what is on the screen through those glare spots. This doesn't appear to have any glare reduction measures. Still a great tv though.

great but does have some judder issues

JJ, Amazon

  • Summary: first off let me preface by saying that not all people experience judder or are bothered by it so if you are, this TV does show it at times depending on the source. I am coming from an LCD that had motion control settings. Yes, it gives the soap opera effect but personally, I like that and for those of us that experience judder, its a great feature. sadly, this TV does not have that feature and would have to move up to the 8500 series to get it.

A steal of a deal!!

  • Summary: This is a great TV for the price. At 51" it makes little difference that it is only 720p. Colors and brightness are comparable to my higher end Samsung 59" 3D TV. Very basic features no frills but comes through where it counts!!
  • Pros: Energy Efficient, Fast Setup, Good Resolution, Great Picture Quality

Great value and great quality all around.

  • Summary: This set is a terrific value for the money! The picture is terrific and personally I believe plasma still delivers the best quality images and color for large flat screens. I have read other reviews complaining about reflections in the screen, and found that can easily be fixed by setting the picture quality from "Standard" to "Dynamic". Also, there is no discernible buzzing from the set which I see some reviewers have complained about.

Amazing value, black detail only draw back

Toad37, Amazon
8 September 2014
  • Summary: Just bought this tv at Costco and have not even got cable set up on it yet. Blurays look awesome, but the dark black and brown detail is not nearly as good as Panasonic plasmas. That's not too say if doesn't have inky blacks, because it does. It just doesn't have the amazing detail that you see in the mid to upper end recent (and discontinued) Panny Plasmas.
