Summary: We purchased this TV in September 2012 after a tremendous deal of research and comparison shopping. We are extremely happy with it; the 3D is awesome, it has a great refresh rate and the Smart TV features are pretty cool, except kind of slow. It networks with other devices (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.), which is a neat feature The only thing that makes us rate it 4 stars instead of 5 is the sound.
Summary: Nice TV with great picture. I did notice a slight buzz that everyone was talking about. The apps can be slow at times. The streaming is definitely slower than my xbox so we stream with xbox for hulu and netflix. Other than that it is a great TV.
Summary: Considering that the new-fandangle techie features on the 8000 work barely 50-60 percent of the time and the remote is cumbersome to use, save hundreds of dollars and get the E7000 series or E6500 series instead. The 7000 is exactly the same as the 8000 except for the voice and motion activation, including PQ that is nearly identical.
Summary: when this came I thought, oh my that's huge. as was told when buying a 3D tv to buy big as the glasses "shrink" the TV size they do. the 3D is amazing! so glad I went with active glasses instead of passive very little tweaking was needed on the picture out of the box.
Summary: This is for all the other reviewers out there having a problem with the buzzing sound. As noted, a slight buzz is part of the plasma technology. When the TV volume is down or off, you can hear a slight hum. It's really minor, and once your volume is over 10-15, you can't hear it at all. HOWEVER- I think some reviewers are really hearing a LOUD BUZZING SOUND. In fact I heard this on my TV after about a week or two.

Summary: I was a little hesitant to buy a plasma. I purchased the older model a few years back and loved the HD display. Of course there is that buzz that was so apparent with the models a few years back. I returned that one because it was too loud! This one still has the buzzing noise and though it's there, it's not that bad when you weigh in that this TV display in HDTV...Period! The buzz thing is very minimal and I barely hear it.
Summary: Received the tv approximately one week ago. The fit, finish and quality of the PN60E8000 is excellent. The functionality of the basic features is superb but there are plenty of opportunities for improvement. First and most important, picture quality is outstanding; great colors, no jitter or other distractions. Also, no humming noises - just nothing to complain about.
