Summary: I purchased this TV in 2012 after researching a number of brands and models. This Samsung Plasma was noted as the top pick in consumer reports and other rating websites. Right at the two year mark the TV would randomly turn off and then back on. It progressively grew worse with the unit not even powering on! I called Samsung support and they were indifferent and told me there were no such known issues with their TV’s and to have a nice day.
Summary: The TV itself is great - love the 60" size, very nice picture handles both sports and movies with ease. However, all the smart gestures and voice commands are garbage, they don't work. And the software is very poorly done - my TV's entire internet-enabled smart hub stopped working completely after a week and I had to go through a 40-minute software update and recalibration process with Samsung tech support.
Pros: Best detail & color I've ever seen on a plasma. Clear, crisp, bright picture and great classy styling.
Cons: -Buzzes badly, not just mine, they all do. On my second set and its worse than the first one. -Screen glare can be annoying in brighter rooms. Its pretty much a large mirror so make good use of your blinds/shades.
