Be Careful: Major Problems with Streaming Services like Netflix and Amazon Prime
21 September 2014
Summary: I bought the 2012 version a couple of years ago for a little under $1900. In February of this year (after the warranty expired!) the built-in streaming services completely stopped working - both Netflix and Amazon Prime. I checked with Netflix, and the problem is definitely with the Samsung TV. Samsung has essentially been giving me the run-around for several months.
Summary: If you're doing your research on this TV and reading these reviews, listen to everyone complaining about buzzing or humming sounds. It's really bad! It emanates from the front of the TV and you can still hear it even with the sound up pretty high. Every time there is a quiet scene in a movie. . . BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. It's too bad, it's really a lovely TV otherwise, but we had to go through the pain of returning it.
Summary: I'm so disappointed. This is probably the best quality image on the market, no doubt about it. But the TV emits a buzz noise that forces me to turn up the volume! And it's not the type of noise you only hear if putting your ear on the tv: I can hear it from 12 feet away! The noise only appears when standing in front of the TV, so I had to push my armchair on the side. You may think this may be a problem with my particular TV...
