Really disappointed after all the time we spent researching prior to ...
1 July 2014
Summary: Failed at 14 months of age. First audio then video. Disconnecting and reconnecting power brought it back to life for about 15 minutes before failure happened again. Really disappointed after all the time we spent researching prior to purchase. Forget about trying to get service from Samsung. Filling out service requests on their website results in silence. Next will be LED from Costco as I've lost all faith in Samsung.
Samsung PN60E8000 Not comming on and turns off by itself. Power light flashing on and off, Clicking inside TV
Kindle Customer, Amazon
27 January 2014
Summary: The picture is very good and has been good for 10 months. But now the TV will not come on sometimes and will work fine other times. Sometimes it will turn itself off also. Samsung customer service has gone down hill in the last year!! I wish I could return this set. Sometimes when I unplug it then plug it back in it starts all by itself..
TV went dark, light blinked red, then exploded inside!
17 May 2013
Summary: I've owned my Samsung PN60E8000 for exactly 1 year now (fortunately, I'm 20 days inside my warranty, otherwise I would be out of pocked on repair issues). I was the first to buy one when it arrived at Best Buy a year ago. Now, one year later, 2 weeks ago from today to be exact, the TV suddenly went dark in the middle of watching a program, and the little red light in the bottom left of the TV that usually indicated that it's on, but this time was blinking red.
Summary: Do not buy this tv for the smart functions, they do not work very well. All those aps are super slow and not even worth using. The web browsing function is worthless and the motion control has never worked for me. The picture looks exactly like the picture of my other plasma that cost $2000 less than than this model.
Summary: I have bough previous high-end model PN58C8000 via amazon.com. The picture was ok for first few months, but I started showing annoying magenta hue on white background. Samsung did replace my panel within 1 year warranty, however after my warranty completely expired after15 months, the problem came back. Now I'm facing high repair cost. Honestly, I will not recommend buying Samsung plasma again to my friends and family, I don't care how good & slick the design is.
Sub-screen spider craking , hundreds complaints on same issue but Samsung Poor quality and support
24 July 2012
Summary: TV developed sub-screen spider cracks and suddenly died , Samsung's own tech noted ,"No External damage to screen" . Even after hundreds of complaints by honest consumers , Samsung won't take responsibility for their $3000 worth of poor consumer product. They know Thermal Expansin issues are causing their plasmas to premature failure, but they won' t admit, because they sell millions of units. It is not acceptable.
Summary: I ignored the other reviews claiming that this TV had a loud hum, thinking that they were overly picky or had extremely amazing hearing, but I should have listened. This TV has the loudest and most obnoxious hum/buzz I have ever heard (like hundreds of wasps swarming in front of you) - no matter how far away you are (I stood back 30 ft and still heard the sound).
Summary: We purchased this TV and within a half hour of setting it up and turning it on the problems started. The TV would turn itself off and then back on again every 4 minutes. We contacted Samsung tech support and their only solution was to unplug it from the surge protector and plug it directly into the wall. That did work for about a day until it started to turn off and on again.
