I'll just try the former if it gets worse, and never buy Samsung again

Summary: Another purple band / pink band apparently. I bought this a little over 2 years ago. I haven't tried opening the back to adjust voltage settings, or contacting Samsung to beg for non-warranty work. I'll just try the former if it gets worse, and never buy Samsung again.
Summary: Nice TV until the screen decides it cannot handle lighter colors which takes about a year. Fortunately, the first time the screen started flickering was at 11 months and within the warranty. The replacement lasted 13 months.
Be careful with Samsung plasma and Customer Service!!!
Not so happy, Amazon

Summary: Lets start with when this came out of the box, the picture was great! i could not be more pleased with the image i was getting, until the 10 month mark of owning it. Many here have described the issue as purple and pink banding during white backgrounds.
Summary: After two short years, this TV has the pink/purple banding problem that seems to be common with this model. A call to Samsung Customer Service was fruitless as they refuse to acknowledge what is an obvious design flaw (really, is 2 years the life expectancy for a TV of this price?
Summary: I love my TV. It is an excellent TV. The picture is very clear and the colors are superb. The sound from the TV is also very good quality. I installed a sound bar, but really didn't need it, just had to have it. I would recommend this to everyone.
Summary: I paid $1649 for this TV to replace the prior Samsung DLP I had that went belly up. Too bad I threw it in the dump the day before I got the notification of the class action suit that would have given me a free repair.
Summary: I purchased this t.v because our first my 2 yr old son threw a toy at it and so we bought the same exact one because we really love this t.v has great picture and lots of great fetures and options
Summary: I owned this television for 4 months when the screen developed a crack on the inside. A little about plasma technology, the screen consists of two planes of glass with a gas sandwiched between the two. The crack that developed on my TV is on the interior pane of glass.
