Summary: For the money, discounted to $550 or so, this set cannot be beat . . . assuming you can control the lighting in the room. As many have learned, Samsung is ceasing manufacture of plasma displays in November, 2014, joining Panasonic and LG is likely to follow. This set does not compare with the industry-leading F8500 series, the "last great plasma" and perhaps the only plasma currently available suitable for bright rooms. The F8500 is several times the price, however.
Excerpt: I had an older Samsung 720p and wanted to upgrade. For the price you can't beat the picture on a plasma. The picture options are numerous, so you really can tweak the picture to make it look phenomenal. My only gripe is the speakers. They are horrible. Also one more hdmi input would have made it the perfect buy. For the price you won't get a better picture.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight, Realistic color
Excerpt: Very satisfying to get a great value, that is actually as good and or better than advertised. The only thing that can't be praised yet is operation longevity, only because usage so far is less than a year.
Summary: The colors on this tv are unbelievable. To even comprehend how astounding the colors look on this tv, you would need to build a rocket that flies just fast enough to circle the earth as the sun is setting. Here you would need to be tripped out on the most potent drugs that money can buy, constantly holding your eyes open (eyedrops probably required), and staring into the setting sun for a minimum of 15 days.
